Andrew Demko still with CS?

This morning I watched a YT video where Andrew Demko was interviewed. If I've got it right, Andrew said during the interview that he left CS. Does anyone have more information about this? And what does "left" mean? Does that mean that Andrew will no longer have Production versions of his customs produced by CS or has he stopped all cooperation with CS? That would be very sad because Andrew was involved in almost all of the CS knives that I like. I still hope I heard wrongly or misinterpreted it....

If he said he left, I see no reason to doubt him. Not surprised about it, really.

If Demko is out, then I wouldn't be surprised to hear that maybe Lynn is likely already done with them as well.

to me in no particular order...Lynn, Andrew Demko and Mr. Wallace were the geniuses behind cold steel. sure there were other crucial folks, i just don't know their names.

without Lynn, Mr. Demko and Mr. Wallace they have little to no chance on great new designs......dont know if Mr. Wallace is still there or not.

guess we'll see what they do without this talent......maybe I'll be surprised.....

I'm not giving up on Cold Steel quite yet , but it's becoming ever harder to remain hopeful , IMO . 🙏

Well not to hammer to many nails in a coffin but the new overlords of CS dumped all their staff in a purge; right around Christmas to really put a corporate Scrooge type spin on it.

But they swore that Demko and Thompson were staying on to steer the new ship. Now it seems that both of those guys are starting new knife companies.

Now as a rule if you exit a a top of their game company your severance will specify a non-complete clause. The fact that the new owners first but all their eggs into those 2 baskets and then were "meh, start new knife companies we don't care" kind of cements what their future plans for this company are.

I guess we have to be patient and wait and see what the catalog has in store for 2022. Maybe then we can guess where the journey is going.

If Mr. Wallace is still there, they have at least one very capable designer on board

I recall a fairly recent thread where he said he’s still active.

Until this thread I had never heard of Mr Wallace. So I did a google search and found a tweet by Cold Steel that says he designed the Colossus, Did he have a long history with Cold Steel?

Demko designing knives and then having them manufactured in another country is not a significant departure from the Cold Steel business model of the past.

Demko designs really good knives and Taiwan in known for good quality production. I am optimistic.

Now, OTOH, as for Cold Steel going forward ...

not sure about how long his history is but he worked with demko there. hes popped in here recently and gave some updates in a couple threads. the Bush Ranger and a few others he did which I think is one of the best knives cold steels ever made personally and I like a lot of their folders. maybe he'll pop in and update us....

It would be very comforting to know that Mike Wallace is still with Cold Steel.

Id like to see these knives hes going to make under his own name.Even though i have an AD20 id still buy a factory made one if he comes out with it.I havent given up on CS yet either, but its not a good sign at all..
