Andrew Demko still with CS?

It would be interesting to find-out, if Andrew is still receiving paid-licensing royalties for the use of his designs, and patents. Many custom makers, also design exclusives for the legacy knife producers. I'm sure many of these agreements can be quite lucrative for the parties involved, depending on the units sold, and produced. I realize that many of these deals expire after patent expiration, or contractual agreement. Interesting to see what transpires with Cold Steel, and their new knives; post Lynn and Andrew.

the bill gates divorce was shocking news
news of someone like demko splitting was always going to be a matter of time.
such individuals know their worth.
if its true about demko leaving,
its best of luck to cs to find a new knife messiah for the brand.

Yes, sad but true.
As I said, I hope that Mr. Wallace is still on board or maybe they have a capable in-house designer team. If there are no hard feelings maybe there is still the possibility that Mr. Demko will design something for them again...

Maybe CSs appearance at Blade Show next month may give a clue about the brands future...

I am curious to see if a company that has been unable to market a single new product or figure out how to handle customer service; and who has already lost the only talent that they didn’t purge upon acquisition, will even bother to show up at Blade. They even managed to kill the company logo and would need new displays. Who is going to be their front man? stickman?

GSM has taken a highly successful brand and turned them into another Dark Ops Knives debacle. Not even that, at least we all had a laugh reading the insane Dark Ops marketing; this mess just has failure written all over it.

The real news at Blade is going to include the new products made by both Demko and Thompson new companies. Those two companies are going to take back their old niche.

Demko maybe, but LT’s new site is going nowhere so far.

Can you imagine if they hire Gil Hibben as their new designer? :poop:
what an excellent idea!
lthey can nail it with
paul basal and steven seagal too.
there is so much potential
with the likes of
movers and shakers
who can really
spearhead anew with
a breath of fresh air
into marketing.

Not sure if a factory AD20 w aus10 and griv ex scales is worth 150; i think its a bit steep i got the AD15 lite for 95.00 almost 30% less...

Agree they're different price classes. Cold Steel being a much bigger company I'm sure can sell more and spread out initial costs further to reduce the prices of their knives. Hopefully as the new production kicks in and sales expand, future releases will be able to drop price a bit

I feel the same way about the AD-20.5. I want to try out the Shark Lock without paying secondary market prices for an AD-20, but Grivory and AUS10 for $150 is not an exciting prospect.

I didn’t know all his. I just ordered a American lawman and a recon 1 just to be safe incase the new people ruin the company. Lol.

Yes I can confirm also that Andrew Demko is no longer with CS. That being said I don’t feel it’s my place to discuss the how’s and why’s of that. I’ll let Andrew explain if he chooses to do so.
To jbmonkey and gardenrambo, thanks for the kind words. I appreciate them greatly. I’ve been with Cold Steel working daily with Demko for the last 12 years. He is a great teacher of all things knife related and a great friend. He is sorely missed. I wish him nothing but the best, considering his talent I know he will continue to achieve great success.

thank you Sir for verifying that for us. sad to see cold steel without Mr. Demko, but im also happy we are gonna see him do more on his own. that aint a bad thing, in my mind.

youre still there? we are gonna see more of your designs, I hope? i can't speak for everyone but im very excited to see what ya have coming up for us......

One thing is not yet clear to me. If Andrew Demko is no longer with Cold Steel, can Cold Steel continue to use the Triad Lock?
