but maybe he should.
Earlier this month I purchased a classic Andy Roy Woodsman from another member. I have wanted one of Andys early knives for a long time, both for the history behind it and because I was intrigued by the fat-handle design. I have only owned my new / old Woodsman for a short time, but so far I am incredibly enamored with handles ergonomics. This knife is a keeper, and I like it every bit as much as the current designs. I count it among my top 5 favorite knives, and intend to use it a lot!!
Dont get me wrong; I still like the current Fiddleback handles but there is something REALLY special about Andy's old-school knives. To put it another way, comparing Andy's old and new designs is like comparing similar BMW and Lexus models. They have their pros and cons, but both are really awesome. In the end, most of what makes you like one design or the other comes down to subjective taste. I will be buying more of both!!
If you have an old-school Andy Roy knife, post a pic here and let us know what you think of it.
(BTW, thank you, Josh! You are a GREAT guy! I really appreciate you selling me this amazing knife. I promise to give it a good home, and to use it and love it the way Andy intended.)
