Angry with BladeForum members!!

I started with a simple SAK, then graduated to a SOG Twitch II, then got turned on by a BM Mini-Barage, got a ZT0350, Leatherman Squirt, ordered a BM 585, bought a Gayle Bradley, looking for a Buck Mayo, getting teased by a Mini Sebenza, WHEN WILL IT END??? I don't make enough money!!! Get a 2nd job, maybe 3, gotta buy knives!
This burgeoning addiction has happened over just the past 3 weeks!! When will it end, when will it end?? Your fault, you BladeForum people, with all those beautiful blades, your fault!!

Greetings and welcome to the VISA card bill that never ends.:o

If you have already graduated to Sebenza's........Congratulations!.......You are now officially a unrecoverable knife addict:D

Have fun and post pics........:)

Steven

Don't worry, your bank account will put a stop to it soon.

Sadly, not 100% true. you will scrip and save to buy your next big purchase. Or you will become frequent on trade forums, wheeling and dealing trying to make the best trade possible. It is actually rather fun and exciting being a knife nut with no cash. The other exciting thing about your new addiction is that the knives you buy can and will hold some resale value. I myself have been unemployed for almost 2 1/2 years. I've been able to earn some spending money by selling some off my collection here and there. I recently sold of a great number of my collection to buy a Strider SMF and a Large Sebenza. Not bad for some one with out a job.
Anyway more importantly Welcome to your new life of obsessive searching and compulsive buying! and Congratulations on your new found love of knives. also congrats on moving along so quickly in the quality of your knife purchases. This is quite a fun addiction to have in my opinion, Enjoy it!

Balisongs seem to have incredibly high resale value after a few years (like the Microtechs and Pacific Cutlery models), so they would make a nice addition to your collection!

Folders are first, then you'll get enamored with fixed blades. I'm in the post fixed blade stage myself, heading towards customs.

Don't look at the Busse's or Bussekinz, DO Not go into the Spyderco Forums and definitely never, ever go into the Custom Knifemakers Markets.

Ok

There just like Gremlins follow those simple rules and you will avoid selling your car for knives.

Think about the junk you would be spending the extra cash on instead of knives, I know I get more enjoyment out of several new knives than one big screen or a dinner at Red Lobster.

Plus, you are making an ivestment, knives hold their value pretty well and are easy to sell or trade on bladeforums.

Go ahead, get the small Sebenza, you won't regret it.

:o

Hey, they're a hell of a lot cheaper than fly rods. This has actually been a good thing for me in a way . .

Stop collecting right now! Sell your knives and don't frequent BF. In this way, you shall be spared untold misery. And please, never spring for ANY manner of custom wallet!

I feel your pain, Brother!

I've lost track of how many hundreds of dollars I have spent directly due to the influence of this forum. "Spirit Runs" from Spyderco, customs from several different makers, various outdoor gadgets and gear. Its been hell on my bank account, I tell ya! :(

Hello, my name is Jeff, and I'm a knife addict.
Like all of us, I got a few knives as a kid. I lacked the income to dive in, and no one in my life had the "real" knives to expose me to.
It was the culinary industry that got me first, in my 20's. I walked into World of Knives in the mall, and was hooked. Got some knives over a couple of years here and there.
Then I got the Cold Steel Outdoorsman, a SOG Seal knife and a Tomcat.
Between work, backpacking, and playing guitar I stayed busy and away from the knife stores, never been to a knife show.
Now ten years after it started, I have found Blade Forums. I have seen knives that I never would have guessed even existed. I started with ESEE and some Ontarios. Then I started drooling over Fiddlebacks and some cool machetes and choppers. Wait, Bark River, how pretty, oh and don't forget the hawks!
Last night, I ordered my first custom made machete. A 12" bolok in 5160. I need to just make my own.

Hello group, I'm Habbekuk and I'm a knifaholic...
Blaming someone else for YOUR addiction is weak. It will also give you anger. This anger prevents you from unconditionally enjoying the rush your addiction gives you, while you still have your habit.
Two choices:
1 Kick the habit and be free.
2 Keep your addicition and do not blame anybody else, take full responsabilty for the ups and downs. This way the ups get fully enjoyed and the downs are just as bad as they would have been when you can blame somebody else.
This rule goes for any addiction.
By the way, do you know the Italian Lion steel folders, or the finnish Martiini fixed blades? Do you already have a Herder sodbuster, or even an Opinel? Sometimes douk-douks are difficult to find.
Hello group, I'm Habbekuk and I'm not gonna be of any help to you.

Well, thanks to the evil knivesandguns, I'm now the proud owner of a Kershaw Volt NIB that I found for a great price. Had to have it...

The worse is that there's no cure and no help out there for us...each time that I talk of my knife addiction to my shrink.....he runs away. BTW don't bring your knives to a therapy session...:)

Welcome to our nightmare...I mean welcome to Blade forums:D
Just wait a month or two, one day you'll open your favorites and it will be a never ending (I want) list ,of knives and a few months from that, outdoor/ survival gear will be mixed in.

Welcome to the club! I have found that being a part of these forums requires a great amount of self control if I don't want to end up homeless! Some guys go to Zen monasteries to learn that. Me, I read about all the wonderful knives people are buying and using and develop my iron will by not running out and picking one up!
I guess one could do that... But all you will end up with is a Zen made blade:D edgy
