So I purchased a Viper Novis in Ziricote wood with Ti bolster. Looking into the TEC clip

Oh, and, uh, I noticed Viper now has a collaboration of the Hinderer Halftrack. May have to get it in that it has scales on both sides of the knife. UGH.

Gonna have to keep us posted on this. Interested to hear your thoughts on it and your solution for clipless carry.

Oh no, what have I done?! :D

Well the clip got here, but the knife is way late, was supposed to be here Saturday. The last few days it appeared in limbo in the USPS system, but finally got an update 20 minutes ago that it's arrived at my local P.O. distribution center, which means it will probably be here tomorrow.

On another note, I like the clip, and I may consider getting a second for my car key fob for summer shorts retention. I'm always having that damned thing fall out of my shorts. Maybe it's time to ditch the 1983 Richard Simmons shorts. Lol j/k.

In the meantime, the aforementioned Viper/Hinderer is on my mind, as well as the upcoming ZT 0762. I'm also considering picking up a maxamet pm2 and making myself a frankenpara.

Updiddlydate! Should be here today according to the PO. So I'll get to carry it tomorrow for Finally F*ing here Friday.

Knafdidlydo Knife Friday! Wish I was getting a knife this Friday. :D

I'd say go for the Maxamet PM2 if you haven't tried that flavor of ubersteel.

I haven't tried that flavor. Now that the Novis is here, I'm a bit on the fence about it.

It's stunningly beautiful. However, the action is not great, and the jimping on the lockbar is nearly as sharp as the blade.

Do I keep it? I love the blade and ergonomics. I had similar reservations about the APurvis Progeny I bought last summer. Again, I loved the look and ergonomics, but the detent was extremely tight and the action not great. I decided to keep it, take it apart, and there was all this black gunk in the pivot. Thorough cleaning, tuf-glide, and a lot of flipping and it is fantastic.

Will that work on the Novis? Even so, I'd need to file the lockbar down a bit.

In the meantime, I'm still shopping for another knife as well.

So, 2/27 will mark 30 years brain tumor free. I was 11. I figure I should celebrate with a knife for going under the knife. I'm thinking $400 max.

I'd prefer a wharncliffe or semi-straight edge.
Flipper, front flipper, or hole opener.
No thumbstud.
No metal handles unless its a bolster.
Not made in China.
No G-10 or FRN. Prefer Micarta, CF, Wood, or other unique materials.

No CRK, RHK, Strider, etc.

3-3.5"blade.

Blade steel is not especially important.

Thanks, tomorrow is the day. I'm hoping for 18 more years, so I can see my niece and nephews graduate high school. The youngest, my niece, is not yet 1. I hope to buy her a car when she is 16. Just about anything would cooler than my first, an 83 Chevy Citation I bought for $150 in 1995. I was supposed to get my grandma's 1980 Datsun 280zx when I turned 16, but my parents wouldn't let me have it.

Anyway, back to knoife shopping!

Well, that means another knife for tomorrow right?

That's a little disappointing to hear about the Novis. Strange how the jimping on the lockbar is excessive considering the rest of the knife looks fairly well contoured. I mean, even the liners are rounded which isn't really common with many knives.

What about the new Spyderco Native Chief?
