If you need any walnut for handles, let me know. I just got in contact with a wonderful rifle stock maker about 20 minutes away. visited his operation and he will give me loads of the blocks they cut:)

Ooh...walnut's beautiful stuff. I'd like to see that.

I've got access to tons of maple, oak, and a little ash (my dad's firewood shed) so I'll be using some of that for an upcoming project of mine. If he ever stumbles across black walnut (which grows around here, though not with great frequency) I'll be in heaven! :D

I've got TONS of Walnut around the shop. I'm going to do some in Teak also for the show.

Decent machetes (that weren't a mile thick with boxy handles like Ontario's) really haven't been available in North America until fairly recently. I was fortunate enough to have landed a good one (by a company called Express) as my first machete back when I was 14. Goodness knows how many folks disregarded machetes for the awesome tools they are just because the only ones they had ever used were crappy ones.:o

I thought it was very important for these to taper, and they do, butt to tip. Really makes the thing come alive in the hand.

I bet you could slip that 12 incher down beside the calf of your leg and get it in easy, a little duct tape and you are home free! ;) Just don't let her hear you holler when the duct tape comes off!

My wife just says something like, "Wow, that's got a pretty handle!" I love that woman.

So's What's your recommended way of sneaking in an 18'er? !!;)

Walk funny! :) Or you can have it sent to me and I'll bring it down next time we are down there...or the time after that. ;)

Anyway, I don't know what the big deal is - I pack 18 inches all the time. BBBWWWAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I've got several ideas. I'm going to do contests, and passarounds, and by the time she's seen the passarounds, and knows of the contests, she won't be able to say you didn't get one for free.

Hopefully I ll be able to get in on some of those passarounds and contests!

Going to be a lapse in interweb service soon, moving to the country, well further, and getting service sorted out.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of contests get whipped up. I probably won't be able to enter since I'm busy 6 days a week with work, but it'll be fun watching it run!

Happy Memorial Day gentlemen! Have some pics.
