Using black blades is like getting a new truck and using the bed. It hurts.

That’s how I felt until I put the first scratch on the coating

This knife uses a cartridge (partial) liner, stainless steel. Yes...you should by one.

What excuse do you need?

Premium materials - G10 (better than plastic/rubber) and M4 - great steel.
Excellent Ergonomics - feels so good in the hand.
Great grind - This thing will slice!

Why use cerakote and not DLC for the blade coating?

Cerakote is more corrosion resistant, according to other discussions about this.

M4 is already somewhat resistant to corrosion, so it's nearly a non-issue (ask Spyderco). I'd rather have a DLC coating that looks great for years than Cerakote that looks like ass after a day of use.

My opinion, I might like a blade coating that does not wear off or maybe a blade coating that I can touch up or refinish myself. Thus, I don't like blade coatings. Didn't have a choice when I ordered my Griptillian in M4.
