Another Amazing Brkt Experience!

My Fox River and my Nebula were both amazingly sharp. I have a canadian special on the way and I am willing to bet it will be as well. If not it will be after 2 minutes.

Wow- total opposite of my recent experience!! I just got a Mini and Micro Canadian, new from DLT. Both would NOT cut out of the box, and the mini had bad grinder marks on the blade, along with chips on the edge of both blades. Called BRKT, talked to Mary. She said to send them back to DLT. Minutes later she said to send them in to them for warranty repair. Sent them in, 2 weeks ago got them back. The grind marks were gone. But... they still barely cut (hardly cut newspaper after cutting 2 mangoes, and a calzone); and I got a $20 bill with them!! Wrote them an e-mail with my opinions on getting charged for warranty work. E-mailed me back saying that it was a charge for the sharpening and shipping. I wrote back saying that it was not right that I was being charged for warranty work that they said to send in. Finally got a response that they looked over the note I sent in with the knives and will honor them as warranty. So far all 3 of my barkies have had edge issues. I have a Northstar on order to go with my Canadians and right now if it comes with edge issues it may be my last Barkie. This would be a shame as I would like a couple more but if 4/4 have issues there is serious issues IMO.

I'm really surprised to hear of your experience.

I HAVE had a few Bark Rivers not shaving sharp, and a few where the fit and finish weren't perfect.

However I have never had one that wouldn't shave after just a small amount of stropping and any Mike Stewart has always fixed any ones that didn't have fit and finish.

Maybe somebody here will tell Mike. I mean he really stands behind his stuff.
 
Hi all with this being my first post here at bladeforums, I just want to say that as I'm reading this thread I opened up a BRK&T Mini North Star that just came in the mail today,and now my forearm is shaved pretty clean,right out of the box,and I have not had any issue's with any of the couple dozen + knives I have from BRK&T

i have 3 barkies and all come shaving hair sharp ..love my barkies ,,grat knife and company

if you have any problem with the knife i think you should give mike a call ,,,he will do good by you

Welcome to our campfire DJJ, youve found some of the greatest guys around.

I am Bark River loyal. every one of them ive had is top notch in sharpness, and fit and finish. If anyone is unhappy with their barkies, I urge you to send them to me directly, and I will dispose of them properly.
