Mr. Mike Turber,

Regarding your "Huge Blow Out Knife Sale" offer of the 19th May 2001.

On the 22nd May, I ordered from you. A few e-mails later ...... and despite your e-mailing me on the 20th July 2001 assuring me that the order had been dispatched long before, nothing ever arrived.
It's now how many months later ?

Attempts to communicate: total number of e-mails = 19

(I reckon that's about 15 of mine, and 4 of yours. Being fair, perhaps you wrote one more, and me one less, so it could be 14 of mine and 5 of yours.) (If you like, I'll double check.)
Your 20th July 2001 e-mail was the last one to me.
Since then, I've sent you 6 e-mails - not a one of them have been acknowledged, let alone answered.
The last e-mail I sent to you was on the 18th Jan 2002.

Then there's the International telephone calls. They number 6 in total. That means six of mine, and none of the other. You haven't responded by e-mail or phone to any of my phone calls. If you like, I'll check my itemised phone bills, and let you know how much they have cost me.

So I have to - not that I want to - contact you this way.
Would you believe that I'm still trying to contact you about an order you said was dispatched long before the 20th July last year.

I wonder why I'm bothering now.

I ordered a Leatherman pulse back then. I never did get it either. My card was not charged, so I didn't say much. I just went somewhere else and paid more, but at least I got it. There was other folks who had similar problems. Sorry to hear about this kind of thing. Again.

FYI, I had similar problems when I ordered my 154CM Talon.

I had "summertime at the lake" in mind when I ordered it -- May / Jun timeframe.

Never arrived, never arrived. Finally a bunch of e-mails and phone calls, we determined that he shipped to my OLD address, which he still had in his shipping database instead of my CURRENT address, which was on my order.

He sent me out a new knife -- probably October. Missed the whole summer I bought it for, so it's just been sitting in my knife case.

Mike

Welcome to the forums lightlover.

Sorry it had to be this way.

Hope you can get it made right.

I am still here and willing to work with you.

Many of the items on the huge blowout sale sold out fast so if you did not get one and were never charged no harm done I guess. When I sold 1SKS and Bladeforums much of the remaining inventory was sold on that sale. I was a one man band at the time and simply got overwhelmed with the response. I am truly sorry if anyone had a bad experience and am willing to make it right.

I don't recall any specific order to the UK as I shipped several. Can you please tell me your name or order number so I can go back and look at the old records?

Otherwise I am stuck with no way to help you.

OOps - me and my manners - apologies to:

Guys, Hi ! And a Newbie's hello to everyone else !

So you knife freaks aren't all a bloodthirsty lot, it seems.
(I was a bit worried about that ...... )

This is my first time ever post really, apart from the business-like one above.
(Except for a contribution to the memorial topic for the late, much missed, Walt Welch, who was a "Senior" member of CPF, CandlePower Forums.)

I've been interested in torches, (Flashlights in American) for a long while, reading at the CandlePower Forums, and the SureFire Discussion Board. A lot of the people there are knife knuts, and it raised my interest.

I just decided to get a very few knives, as examples of the Art. There's little chance of me becoming a collector, but the design and materials science of bladestuff fascinates me.

Some favourite designs as of now are the Benchmade Spike, the Microtech ULTRATECH-6, a small antique Katana I saw in a Museum, and of course, the Leatherman Wave (+Tool Adapter) I ordered nearly a year ago ......

.......

Mr. Turber, you have a very good reputation.
That's a reason why I decided to order from you.
That's why I am so surprised at the total lack of any response to my attempts to communicate with you.

The harm done is clearly stated in my opening post: I'm not joking about or exaggerating the number of e-mails I sent, their dates, or the number of expensive TransAtlantic phone calls.

I'll send you an e-mail (yet again) with "lightlover" in the subject line. It will contain all the [relevant] past correspondences.
[Edit - Once that's done, I'd prefer to do any further communications via this Topic, if you don't mind.]

I look forward to hearing from you,

lightlover

Yep, looks like this one should be in the GB&U.

lightlover, I hope everything works out for you. I know how you feel being in the UK. I had a similar problem with a UK dealer a while back, but it was not knife related. Many months passed, numerous emails sent, and unanswered phone calls left me feeling helpless. Finally, I got fed up with the situation, and I devised an email scheme that finally got the UK dealers attention. No, I did not spam him or anything like that, but I did use free email accounts to set the trap. FWM&IWFWU Big D1

Thanks, Big D1, I appreciate that. Glad our UK robbers didn't manage to rob you. Let me know who it was, and I'll avoid them.

But, what is *the GB&U* - is it somewhere that I'm a-going to be outcast into, or what !!??
And this FWM&IWFWU - what's that mean

I sent the fateful e-mail a few hours ago.
Not too long after that, I got a reply.
With great anticipation, I opened it.
I scrolled down, past the stuff I'd sent, in search of some content other than my original.
And I read this:

Thank you for contacting WOW.
We will be out of the office until March 11th while we attend the ASD/AMD Show in Las Vegas.
All orders placed while we are away will be filled ASAP after the 11th.
Thank you for your understanding.

Best Regards,

I just had to laugh.
But no harm done really - I can wait a little longer.

lightlover :D ;) :)

Sir,
I do seem to recall that posting style: but from where and whence ?

It will come back to me, I'm Sure.

Indeed, the Inova X5 and a Benchmade Spike do suit each other.
My compliments on your finely-honed Aesthetic sensibility.

Due Regards,

lightlover :)

lightlover, the GB&U means the Good, Bad, and Ugly forum here at blade. You post in that forum when a deal has gone bad, good, or just not satisfied how a purchase or trade transpired.

FWM&IWFWU--The "F" stands for the 4 letter sexual intercourse word.
F*** with me&I will F*** with U. This was not directed at you in any shape or form. It has to do with people in general that really deserve it.
Big D1

Thanks for the explanation, Big D1 :)

Since I'm a newbie, there's a Lot I gotta learn.

(I'll read it as "Fool With Me &IWFWU".)

OK I am back. I did not see that this was moved. Let me know your email address so I can search for it. It is not on your profile. I promise I will make it right, just need a little time and help on your end. I am sorry for the bad experience, I am human and do screw up at time, a lot lately :)

That is an interesting question. The auctions should not have been over, but they are no longer on ebay. So Mike, what happened?

...Like most of you, I too received the WOW spam, and took a look at the ebay auctions...WOW! Almost too good to be true, and heeding momma's words... ;)

So, I bookmarked a few, but the negative feedback prevented me from bidding...

Now, 'viola', all the auction listings are gone... WOW!

Mel

(Honestly, I don't even want to know...)

Suddenly I'm "watching" nuttin over der on eBay where previously I was ready to jump in and steal knives right out from under Melvin's nose. Oh well, easy come easy go, but I'll betcha' the story's kinda' interesting!
