I’ll post some pics when the knife gets back to me. I’m really concerned now that they took a considerable amount of blade height off.I would demand they stick with their original words. Replace or refund.

Not yet, I’m guessing it’ll be here in a few days. The initial issue (wavy edge damage) MAY be fixed but will my knife look like a toothpick now?
If so, you can always sell it as a factory one-off Edwin (Not For The) Forest Toothpick Bowie.I’ll post some pics when the knife gets back to me. I’m really concerned now that they took a considerable amount of blade height off.
Agreed 100% on this. There's a guy 5 miles from me who does (did) absolutely fantastic work. Does (did) everything in house. He's way underpriced IMO, and would never in a million years let anything other than perfection escape his shop. He's working on one for me right now that he's done over at least once. That’s one of the benefits of this forum. From the experiences of others I’ve read BR is definitely off my list. I support independent knife makers with good reputations. I can’t imagine spending a dime with a manufacturer who is so cavalier about their problems. My question is why do folks continue to support a shady company like BR? Thanks for the continued heads-up. There are a fine group of independent makers who do much better work who will stand behind their work: Steingass, Dalibor, Patton, Seward, Bailey, Haso, Mantovani, etc. Support these independent bladesmiths and let these corporate snakeoil vendors dry up. Are they more expensive? Possibly; but I would rather support a true bladesmith than a corporate entity who trades on its name and delivers questionable quality than a smith who can deliver what you want and in whose interest it benefits its name to satisfy a customer.
If you want to support a local, Michigan business, I’d check out Hess Knives. Beautiful, Marbles styled knives, with blades made by Great Eastern Cutlery from 1095. They’re made to order, with all kinds of handle options too, which is cool.
Oh yeah, IBTL![]()
What makes me sick about BRK is their knives are so damn pretty.
BRK is the poster child for "beauty is only skin deep".
I’ve been here since ‘98.The have been MUCH worse BRK threads that went on for pages and pages. This thread is rainbows and unicorns compared to the other ones.
I don't see this one getting locked.
TryAnyone have any idea where I could find another knife similar to this one? It’s an Edwin Forrest bowie. I really liked the design and blade length.

TryDavid Mary . I'm sure he could cook something up.
In all honesty, I'm sure any of our resident craftsmen could do whatever the op desired, and stand behind their product to boot. PaulDavid Mary would be capable I would think.
Not speaking for them butRedmeadow Knives and
Richard338 also come to mind. You might check with them.
