We haven't had one of these in awhile, so I was wondering what everyone currently is packing around in their pockets or on your belt as of late. Let's seem some pics or have some lists. Why do you lug around what you are lugging around? Useful, sentimental, paranoia?:D

I apologize for the blurry pic. I snapped it quickly before I scooted my daughter out the door to school this morning:o

The JKM-1 is a newer production. Bone handle with just a bit of green to it. Gives it almost an iridescent olive drab look that I like:) As much as love my bigger blades, the stout and handy little JKM is a worksite dream. I use it for all my tough and dirty cutting jobs that require a knife with a more pry bar quality. I keep it in a sheath nearly horizontal on my strong side at 1 o'clock. Really handy there:)

The ZT is my splurgey little gift to myself a couple months back. I always wanted one, and I found one in a local shop at a good price and couldn't pass it up. It's about as close to a lightsaber as you can get. Not from a cutting standpoint, but stylistically it just oozes a regal calmness wrapped around a formidable 4+" blade. It gets used for...well, I dunno really. I don't want to bugger it up too much even though it could take it;)

The Multi-tool is a Leatherman Rebar. I usually carry a SuperTool 300 on my person, but Lowe's had a ridiculous deal on these last month, and I couldn't pass it up. The contractor in me doesn't allow me to leave the house without a capable pliers based tool. The Rebar is quite a bit lighter than the ST300, and can usually handle almost all of the same chores.

The Case mini trapper is my family totem:) It gets used for all the mundane day to day cutting needs. My wife and daughter got it for me for my birthday almost a year ago. The Mrs picked out the pattern, the lil' one selected the color. I always carry either this one or my medium stockman they got me for Christmas. My daughter is fascinated with it. I may end up getting her one for her birthday if she still has an interest. She KNOWS that daddy won't leave the house without one of the two in his pocket.

The zippo is....a zippo:) I don't smoke, but I always carry a zippo with me. Too many times I have needed a bit of flame and had it to leave it at home. I cut a lot of heavy duty nylon impregnated rope in my job. The zippo gives me a way to clean up the ends by melting them and doesn't get hot like a Bic.

Finally, a plain Jane S&W 642. I've committed myself to the J frame for carry as of late. I like simple, and snubbies are simple. I need something invisible and something I can easily remove and leave no trace of a gun (like a holster) for when I am at work. I also don't mind recoil but I HATE trying to carry a heavy gun. I'm a wuss like that. I slapped a pair of Clip Grips on it, and it carries really well IWB. Not pictured is the reload...it's in my jacket pocket.

Granted, some of this may be subject to change in the near future with the holiday coming up. I asked Santa for a new pocket knife (family tradition that dad opens that first so that he has something handy to cut all the plastic ties off the toys), and I have got the itch for an alloy frame Commander length 1911, so the J-frame my do some back-up duty if I can luck into one once I get the Christmas bills paid off.:p

So, what do y'all have rattling around in your pockets or weighing you down?:D

This should be good, great idea Jake.
I'll bust out the camera when I get a chance and play along too.
I like carrying the Zippo, so many times like you say a little fire would have been right handy.

Okay, let's see what we got here.

1: Peanut lighter. I don't smoke often but you never know when a lighter might come in handy. Unfortunately it uses zippo lighter fluid and it's always empty when I go to use it. There's a gasket that's supposed to keep the fluid from evaporating, maybe it needs replacing.
2: True Utility telepen. You never know when you need a pen!
3: Uncle Bill's Sliver Gripper tweezers. My Leatherman doesn't have tweezers so these do the trick.
4: A titanium bottle opener. I can't remember who made it. It's really light but it's not a very good bottle opener. You've really got to work on it to get a bottle open so I never use it. I just keep it on my keychain out of habit.
5: Thumb drive
6: A real bottle opener cuz the titanium one doesn't work.
7: Leatherman Squirt ES4
8: Thrunight TI flashlight. This thing is great. 164 lumens and it's made of titanium.
I keep everything in a leather wrap around case so it doesn't jingle in my pocket.

The pocket knife is a Rough Rider RR824. The big blade locks, but rather than a lockback you release it by pushing down on the spine of the smaller blade. Pretty cool design! No HI products sadly, they'd probably end up with me in jail.

Steely,

Can you give an example of what you use your JKM-1 for? I love the size and shape of the knife but I've never found a good use for it outside of the kitchen where it's great for cutting thick cheeses.

Well...I have my EDC 2 Tac Pens, CS Counter Point 2 AUS8, and Spyderco Delica ZDP. I'm in CA, so my "Sig P226" stays in the car under my seat.

Ok here we go! Straight from my pockets to my lap.

Starting with the knives, I've got my HI Mini Micro Bowie with custom kydex sheath, Emerson CQC-7AW with custom work including regrind and etch, and my Fiskars mini trimming sheers (I work in interior plantscaping right now). On my keychain is a lanyard to assist with pocket removal and double as some emergency paracord, as well as a mini fire starter (I believe it came with an ESEE blade), and picker packer poker (poker comes in handy quite often). The brass snake bead on the lanyard is made by Lion ARMory. Aside from an ode to my love of snakes, I do believe I could use the bead to break my car window in an emergency.

I love seeing what everyone carries!! Keep the pics coming :)

I have a few different edc load outs. The most I would carry would be this

The first one is my weekend around the house/doing stuff load out.

Most of the time I'm not at work it looks like this

I'll post my work load out tomorrow. I can't carry at work sadly.

The gun switches out as well as the knife. I've been carrying the pm2 almost exclusively since I got it and really like it.

Awesome pocket dumps guys:)
Glad I'm the only one lugging around so much stuff:D

I spent too many years in the Boy Scouts and I love my toys. Also a man can haul a lot of junk on a wheel chair, a lot of junk.

First pick is what I have on me attached to belt, ankle holster etc. If I go to the ground or fall out or sit in a car and my chairs in the trunk this stuff stays with me.

This 1911 or a Dan Wesson Cbob usually on my right hip. The bawanna bowie on my left hip, double mag pouch, stepped up from a single in lieu of current events, phone. The little Kahr 45 rides on my ankle, I have to take the 1911 off at work for silly reasons we don't need to get into but the ankle gun stays mostly cause it's invisible.

Hanging on the chair frame or in my little front back pack, what do you call a back pack on the front????? Little thing.

We add a couple flashlights, leatherman tool, a Top fixed blade an officer recently gave me, and some cuffs in case somebody wants to just give up. I didn't unload the bag, it has wallet, keys, pens, a couple folder knives, hearing aid batteries, all kinds of stuff.

Also have a bag on the back but nothing tactical in there, actually the cuffs ride back there but nothing much else important.

I love it.
There is an awful sequel to the fantastic Alien movie series. It's part 4. There isn't much to salvage out of that garbage. However there is a character in it who is in a wheel chair. When he gets aboard the ship he is wanded down and obviously sets off the detector. His response is basically, "Do you want me to get up?"

Layer in the movie, it turns out he has a massive blaster stored in pieces across the chair that he put together in order to shoot the xenomorph aliens.

Our dear departed Yvsa had a rolling walker that I used to imagine having said arsenal. However, yours takes the prize:)

At work now... I live in a rather liberal state which hates personal freedoms, and guns. They would probably call the cops on me if I emptied my pockets and took pics at work :D. My boss knows I CCW, but he is a business owner and conservative. He asked me to not "scare the woman"... so I keep my toys hidden.

I will empty my pockets tonight hehe... Its amazing how many people carry IBBB's on a daily basis.

Seriously, nobody has any trash in their pants?
Just wait until I dump my dumps tonight. Hehe No cheating, promise.
Will just have to hide credit card numbers and patterns of keys and such. :-p

I'm surrounded by cops everyday. I have to leave the 1911 in the car but everything else stays with me. I'm surprised nobody has raised a ruckus about the IBBB. I carried the 10" version before the coming of the IBBB so maybe they think I'm a gettin soft or something.

If caught with the ankle gun I'll probably be fired but rather be fired than nekkid.

It's one of those things where it's ok as long as they don't hear or know about it even though they know it's happening.???
Ignorance is bliss.

I keep my gun on me at work most days. Today I am wheelbarrowing 9 yards of concrete from the street. If my math is right, it'll be about 4 miles total I'll be walking pushing 300lbs. Another 4 empty.
Even a 15oz pistol is dead weight.

I still have my tool on me along with my mini trapper and an old Craftsman Barlow.

I've wheeled a few hundred yards of concrete in my day BC (before chair). My first job was building fences and I hand mixed a whole bunch of concrete over a 10 year period.
I actually mixed a few wheelbarrows this summer putting up a fence to contain my dog.
That's one of the few things I don't miss much.

Tough work that concrete.

It warm enough there to be pouring concrete?

A few hundred. Respect!
The max I can do is 11 yards though I had to move it 150 feet with the wheel barrow. Strangely feet got tired before back or arms, even with all the shovelling.

I like construction work. Instant sense of accomplishment and kind of honest that way. Sometimes I wish I had continued that route.

That few hundred was over the course of maybe 25 years.
My all time record for hand mixing in a wheelbarrow was 7 yards in one day. We had a real big fence job with easy hole digging and I was good at mixing. Boss told me I didn't have to do anything else but mix. Somebody else would load the wheelbarrow, somebody else would wheel it, just mix.
Really should have got a truck on that job, it was open, easy access but we got r dun.

Later after 10 years in a tool warehouse where there was nothing to look at if you did your job so no sense of accomplishment, I got into construction. Lots of wheeling on that job too, but very little mixing at least.

I loved construction, and I'd get right back into it if I ever got vertical again.

Perfect day to pour. 62 degrees and sunny:)

We order all of our concrete by truck. My old man and uncles used to mix it in the wheelbarrow 30 or 40 years ago. I'm happy about not doing that;)

I actually like wheeling it. I'm lucky, I have long arms. Picking up a load is nothing more than grabbing the handles and standing up straight.

Your going through a heck of a lot more concrete at each project that most of what we did.

Fencing usually a yard or so a day was doing a lot. Construction for foundations and patios and stuff usually involved a truck.

You old man and uncles must be animals. Doing pools and such hand mixed. Now that's respect.
