Customer service is great. The company makes stuff for NASA. They make everything in house to a very high tolerance.
These are the most important points. He backs his work, and he keeps tight tolerances without cutting corners or skipping steps.
Very smooth. The drive wheel is what makes them so smooth. They are individually fitted to each motor.
The drive wheel is only one of the many factors that make them so smooth. It's pretty apparent that the guys at Northridge work on different levels than most grinder manufacturers. Like all other aspects of what we do, the precision we keep, the tolerances we maintain, and the quality of the components determine the value of our products. I have no doubt that good grinders can be made in a home shop, but if someone else can make a comparably priced machine that keeps tolerances measured in tenths (that's ten-thousandths of an inch, kids - .0001"), it seems a little foolish to give someone else money...
