Another help me choose thread PLEASE

Wow - I really dig those inserts on the Socoms! What did you use?

The graphic on the Sebenza is awesome too!

The Microtech Mini-Socom Elite. Microtech, as you know, changes their line-up often. Owning one of these will always have some value either as a collectors item or as a rare show piece. Also, the MT Socom Elite is very affordable.

That carbon fiber really sets it off nicely. I had my D/A out today playing with it, and even though I have the satin finish blade, and polished hardware now on both of mine it sure would look better with the carbon fiber scales on them but Tom says it cannot be done because of the D/A release, and would make the handles too thin.
By the way I talked to him today, and he told me that so you, and others will know Walter Brend, and his daughter both do all the work on the satin finish blades, and is doing 100 more, and then he will not be doing anymore for CK & T, Protech, etc. as his daughter is moving away to another state, and he can't handle the work load with his customs, and all. Don't know who will do the work after that but Tom just talked to Brend today, and that is the latest. Also I asked Tom about the backspacers being in different colors as one of mine is black, and the other is purple(which my wife carries), and he said you can get about 7 different colors if you want to order it in a different color. A little more trivia I did not know. Anymore questions e-mail me, and I will try to answer as we talked for about 45 minutes today, and may have more info if you are curious.
Enjoy your new Brend:)

Glad I got the one with a Brend Finish now!!:D I may pick up some different colored back spacers. I have a quick question for ya and if you answer it here, it may server to help others in the future.

The clip on this baby is secured through the pivot screw right? If I remove the clip, will it still function properly as in the length of the screw itself without the clip taking up some slack?

I plan to have one of Gary's awesome sheaths made for this baby and wanted to make sure the clip could be taken off without any problems or if I would need a new shorted pivot screw. I haven't had time to disassemble her and find out for myself yet Thanks

It will work but you may have to shorten the length of the female part of the screw as it might be too long on the frontside where the hexhead screw goes in. Or you could put in a wahser under the shoulder of the screw to take up the difference without the clip being there. Just a couple of ideas.
I am also going to have Gary Graley make me up a couple of horizontal sheaths for mine so I guess bright minds think alike :D
Hope this helps on removing the clip. Could try removing it, and see what happens before you ship it to Gary.

I just heard that they possibly have a spacer to put in there to take up the slack and fill the hole? I may call them tomorrow and see if maybe I can send her in. Reason being, it looks like after the clip is removed, there may be alittle wear on the finish from clip rubbing. Maybe with some smooth talking, I can see if I can get the clip removed, finish touched up underneath and some blue or red spacers put in. We will see :D
