Another Laconico

"Simplicity of design, everything you need and nothing you don't, with style!"

That pretty much sums up Ray's work!

Use 2 of those, 1 is thru the belt loop.

Thanks! I will have to try that.

The only thing I worry about is that the handle looks pretty square from the pics I've seen. Don't get me wrong, it looks GREAT and I love the lines, but is it comfortable for extended use? Are the edges on the handle a little rounded? I need to go dig up some in-hand pics....

They do sometimes look squared but they are definitely rounded and comfortable. The handles tend to vary just a bit since Ray is a custom maker and basically starts from scratch every time he makes an HWK or HWK+. You would be surprised at how well the more squared handle locks into your hand but I think I still prefer the more rounded versions.

Here are the two original (HWK and HWK+), you can see they are more rounded than some of the current iterations.

Great score.
Ray makes an incredible knife.
Post some action shots so we can drool some more.

Great knife. I have an HWK incoming from Ray that should arrive this week, can't wait.

:( Mine is pride and prejudice. Every time she makes me watch it, I make her watch a Godzilla movie. problem is that there are over 28 Godzilla movies and one good pride and prejudice.

mista darcy is a tool bag.

My god Joe, my wife watches Pride and Prejudice at least once a month. Mista Darcy....:barf: :barf: I have to hear about him everytime I am in the doghouse.

Check out Bill Brysons book next to The Road . Talk about diverse reading, I loved them both!

Yes, once again some fantastic work from Ray.

Thanks Mike.

He sure could make himself a lot more accessible....

Do you know what kind of steel he likes to use, and what his prices are like?

-Ankar

He is a part time maker and basically makes knives in his free time. i don't think he wants a backlog or long wait times. He mainly uses O1 and his prices are extremely fair.

I think his resources are fairly limited when it comes to e-technology (this is purely speculation) and I'm not sure if he saw his current level of success coming. His prices are very good, and much lower than many customs I've seen recently. O1 seems to be the norm in what I've seen his blades made. I have to add that his sheaths are fantastic and are of a caliber that some of us would pay almost half the price of the knife to get with other knives. They come with his blades at no additional charge in my experience.

Thanks for the info guys.

I've got way too many knives, but I just love the shape of his drop point blades. His Nesmuck folder looked really awesome too. I'll definitely have to drop him an email.

cjag, I'm glad you like the knife. Thanks for the nice review:thumbup:

I didn't realize it was so hard to get a hold of me:o. If you click on my name, you'll find a link to my email. You'll also find a link to my photo album. I don't have a real website.

I am now a full time maker but my backlog is still getting kind of longer than I'm comfortable with. I won't be taking anymore orders for about the next month so I can catch up a bit. I just don't want people to have to wait more than a couple of months for their orders.

Thanks!
-Ray

I guess my order for a Project W to piggy-back the HWK will have to wait :(
Thanks again Ray
