To find John's place, an MAD ( magnetic anomaly detector ) isn't needed, just a map and a compass to tell you when a strongish distortion of magnetic north occurs.

Does HI have anything with a blade similar to the stag handled model John posted a pic of?

Isn't there some sort of Tibetan Buddhist/Hindu deity-bodhisatva with many multiple arms capable of wielding all those khuks at the same time with the express duty of protecting those dedicated to the spread of khukri knowledge! I believe he may have manifested in physical form! the Khukri Lama. Great Pic!

Finch, you could be right. I'm not much of an authority on such things -- just a simple, plodding try-to-be Buddhist.

Finch,
You have a lot of existing gods to choose from since many have multiple arms: Varahi, Sambara and Namasangiti (12 arms each!),Manjuvara, Yogambar, Chamunda, Vasundhara, Vajranaga, Hayagriva, but the closest would be Vajrakila. He is known as the deity of the magic phurba dagger.

Of all the pictures I have seen none of them ever seem to be holding a khukuri. One or two could be holding a kora, but usually it is a nondescript straight double edged blade.

I bet Pala could 'remember' a good deity we could adopt.
