If you had to keep only one FOLDING knife out of EVERYTHING you own (ALL OF YOUR OTHER KNIVES, INCLUDING FIXED BLADES WILL BE GONE). what would it be?
If it breaks, it gets replaced with the same thing
Keep in mind that it may be used for light chopping or batoning, as it is the only knife you own now. So, strength should be taken into consideration.
(whether or not it is "sheeple" doesn't matter)

Out Of All Of The Knives I Own....
Spyderco Para2 Would Be My Answer, But The Fact Is, It's More Of Just An "EDC" Blade Rather Than A Heavy Duty Knife That Has To Be Used For Absolutely EVERYTHING.

So I'd Go With My Manix 2.

My Rapture from Peter R...already baton wood with it:D Just a brute of a knife.

Sorry to be so sheeple-ish, but I'd have to go with my Victorinox Spartan Lite. To those unfamiliar with SAKs, let me lay it out for ya:

  • Large and small blades = always a sharp one, and one for precision work
  • The usual can opener and bottle opener, with large and small flat head screwdrivers. The large one has a stop at 90 degrees
  • In-line #2 phillips, which also stops at 90 degrees
  • LED flashlight; just a little single cell one, but it can be a godsend
  • Toothpick, tweezers
  • Awl
  • Eyeglass screwdriver
  • Corkscrew (I'm a wine-drinker)

The reason is that I'm a suburbanite, and I just don't do any chopping. I do more fruit-slicing and technical stuff.

I almost went with a Cybertool 34, but it is 5 layers and has a better tool set, but I would end up not carrying it much of the time because it's too thick for pocket carry and I don't like belt carry.

(If I could pick two, the other would probably be a Delica, as is pictured with the Spartan Lite above.)

My Ritter mini-grip with Cuscadi Orange G-10 scales. My fav knife, and strong enough for most things I do with a knife by far (and cuts like a laser that has been sharpened to a hair popping beam)!

Douk-douk the large one. Yes, I can and have successfully batonned with it, it isn't the perfect tool by any means but it will work in a pinch.

If There could be only one, it would be This

It can handle all the batoning needs and most anything else.

I'd go with my Victorinox Spirit X (if that qualifies as a folding knife), since it has the utility to deal with most of what I encounter during my daily activity.

The best folder I currently own is a para2. So for that would be it. But I think if I had to make a similar purchase for this purpose it would be a Manix2 or a superleaf.

Still new to the idea of a hard use folder(batoning)

cold steel ak-47.

Not the biggest, but the easy to carry, lightning fast draw, while still being viable for everyday use. Probably could baton as wel, although it's not taking down any trees any time soon. Cheap enough that it can be replaced easily and fast too.

Cold Steel Recon 1 would be a good choice, built like a tank. Really impressed with the triad lock.
