Another "only one" post. with a slight twist!

Another "only one" thread!

Normally I'd pass on this type of topic but I can answer the question without much thought.

My one folder....drum roll....Victorinox Pioneer.

I've owned hundreds of knives of all types and the knife I use more often than any other and that I have been using for over 25 years is the Pioneer or Soldier. They are the same except the Pioneer has a hole for a anyard. I have a few Farmer models but I've never needed the saw so I'm more inclined to go without the saw. The awl is my favorite blade. I carry either the Pioneer or Soldier everyday. Jeans or tux, it's in my front right pocket.

Victorinox alox Soldier/Pioneer.

I like my Pioneer (and really like my Alox Solo!) but the main blade lockup has always felt a bit "squishy". All the other stuff snaps nicely. Is this typical? The Solo has a nice lockup but it has nothing else on that spring.

What's the "twist" that differentiates this post from every other ad nauseam posting?

My CRKT Folding Razel. Strong enough, and the odd blade shape keeps it from looking tacticool.

I also have an axe, hammer, prybar, sawzall, and chainsaw, although I don't keep all of them in the car.

What?

I'm thinking that the 'twist' is if you break your knife, you get a new one for free. :D

If you had to keep only one FOLDING knife out of EVERYTHING you own (ALL OF YOUR OTHER KNIVES, INCLUDING FIXED BLADES WILL BE GONE). what would it be?
If it breaks, it gets replaced with the same thing
Keep in mind that it may be used for light chopping or batoning, as it is the only knife you own now. So, strength should be taken into consideration.
(whether or not it is "sheeple" doesn't matter)

Well from a purely practical standpoint I`d have to say my Victorinox Farmer. Saw, blade, punch, can and bottle opener.

But I`m not practical so I say Para 2. :D

Do I have to pay to replace it if it wears out, breaks or gets lost? If so, and it has to be out of ones I own, either my 0300, VECP or 0561. If not and I'm not limited by the fact that only 10 of them exist, then my Burchtree Dauntless.

For future reference: In a "one knife" situation, always rely on SAK Locksmith.
Last time offa me posting in one of those threads. I haven't been long on BF but this is boring.

the fact that its only folders, and all other fixed blades as well will be gone

Fyi, the majority of those who carry EDC knives, carry folders and not fixed blades. While a fixed may be in a work bag or in close proximity if needed, the majority of the time a folder will be what is on the person and easier to access.

i know, but in this case it means that all the "fixed blade work" (batoning and chopping) will be done with a folder. therefore, it needs to be a strong folder. makes it harder to choose one

I agree, but the way I look at it, how often would one really be batoning/chopping with a folder. :D

depends on the brand, the situation, the price that may be lost, and how much u care about it.....
i'd baton with my frost knives all day long. but my cold steel or victorinox knives.....eh.... HELL NO haha

Would be more meaningful to me...IF...a broken knife would NOT be replaced. So then, strength is MORE meaningful.
