Another piece of barrel damascus

Thanks for all the comments about this. A few questions have been asked,

Joe, it would be nice to try a full sized barrel, perhaps one day.

Indian George, there is no tutorial but some more imfo can be found on this thread on britishblades, http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51310

Deker, the art is in not welding the mandrel inside the wrap, see above thread for more imfo.

David, this piece is not stainless just 15N20 and plain carbon steel.

Jim, it might look like 11 rings stack welded, but here is the billet before welding. A gentle spiral. The piece is leaning against a 12" swage block

Mick.

Wow! It's kind of like a twisted jellyroll on a stick. Delicious and beautiful!

Mick thats so interesting. There is a video on making a cannon on your British thread that is a pure joy to watch. Maybe I can find it on u tube and link it up.

Aw jeez...here I got all excited...I read Damascus barrels...and I got all WOOHOOO!

.....and then I see there, this itty bitty "tube?"..

I had the idea of having these GORGEOUS rain barrels at each corner of the house....with little cherubs tinkling in them....

All you got is this perfect unflawed twisty stuff?

Ok...well call me if you ever aspire to bigger stuff....

Naw...ok...I was funning with you...

G-EORGE-OUS work...

I dream of doing stuff like that...in my dreams.
