Another week hunting...

Nice shootin! You always post great pics... very interesting territory you hunt.

Your deer look very different from our whitetail here in Texas, but the pigs look identical to yours way down under. Seems kind of strange that they would be so similar being half a world apart but I've shot many that look almost identical to the ones you shot.

Love the Sako. I've been hunting with them as long as I've been hunting. The only bad thing about a Sako is you have no excuse if you miss a shot. ;)

You actually have some Fallow Deer in Texas ... ;) I saw them when I was there in 2009 but buggered if I can recall where. I also hunt Chital (Axis), Reds and Rusa regularly.

Yes we do have fallow! They are considered 'exotics' here. Ranchers bring them in and breed them along with Axis, black buck antelope, audad, red deer, and all kinds of African and Asian game that find Texas suitable as a habitat. Most started out as small private collections on high-fence ranches but populations have escaped those confines and nature has taken it's course. In some places exotic breeds are thriving in Texas. To me it only means more hunting and more delicious meat.

You sound a bit like me... If they had a rock hunting season, I'd be out in the parking lot with a hammer...filling tags. Skinning rocks is tough, but I'm pretty sure infi or sr101 would do a fine job... :D

Keep posting those pics!

I did certainly once hunt a large rock... in the tussock grass it looked just like a boar, spent about 20mins getting in a position to shoot it before I realised.... ;)
