It is a very nice piece. What color stain did you use on the handle?

Aqua Fortis, its a heat activated acid based stain that makes the curl pop..Then fisnihed with boiled linseed oil..
The ammount of curl is totally dictated by the grade of wood..Has to have curl and be nice wood otherwise no stain will help it..

Thanks for the info. I was aware of the different qualities of wood. I recently did a low grade curly handle with a natural stain that I like, but yours just pops a little better. I'm just doing some testing on a cheaper handle before I go with a higher quality piece. I'll give your method a try.
