Anxiety is a killer

I'm with dkb45, I NEED to have tracking.

But I can only wait patiently for so long, mainly because I have NO patience lol.

I have 3 knives arriving today and can't wait for them to get here!!!

Most of the time I pay an extra few bucks for Priority shipping just to make sure my wait time is cut in half :D

It will arrive soon .... go play with your other toys while you wait.

Or better yet, go make something.

I used to be excited to get a new knife in the mail. But, there's been so many over the years that now it's just another sharp pointy thing with a handle. And when it shows up I'll just cut open the package with another sharp pointy thing, that I waited on to arrive also. Then look at it and put it in my pocket like I did.with the rest....

and feel like I may spring a leak from anxiety.

I know I've said this many times, but my words of brilliance are like gold-encrusted jewels that deserve repeating. This emotional roller coaster you are on, which you characterize in part as anxiety, is your brain's mechanism for distracting yourself from conscious and subconscious angst. Its the same reason that some folks have chronic back pain that cannot be attributed to physiology (link), or why others will hit the booze. Its all a big distraction employed by your subconscious, and it serves a purpose.

So, short of dealing with your angst directly, anesthetizing yourself with knife purchases is not nearly as harmful as other distracting activities. So embrace the anxiety. Its almost good for you.

I usually do pretty good with waiting but if I have tracking Ill look at it once a day then when its out for delivery Ill be looking out the door nonstop wanting w/e it is

Damn you had to go full out philosopher on me. My anxiety (I will still call it that) is mostly gone now that my international package without tracking is delivered. Know where it is take a lot of stress off. But I will never become numb to the new knife jitters, but good lord it is an addiction to feed.

Like most folks, when I place an order I tend to want it NOW! Don't think that syndrome is age related:D.
I refuse to get stressed out over it....after all, anticipation is part of the fun.
Plus it seems like many times the one you're wanting faster is a disappointment and one you were ho-hum about really pleases and surprises you.

Anxiety/stress is a killer, or at least a serious detriment to your health. There's already enough we can't avoid, don't add more over something that is supposed to be a source of pleasure.

For those who insist on stressing out of the arrival of a purchase, I'm happy that you have nothing more serious in your life to worry about.
