Recommendation? Any 2021 Case-made Cattaraugus knife reviews?

How is the quality control on the more expensive Case-made “Cattaraugus” brand knives?

I like the long pull and swedge on the trapper posted, but the shield is way too small and the last thing I really need to spend money on is another trapper.

Case needs to work on a lot of things that one would assume would be easily fixable, but I guess if the Ford and Harley stuff is selling, why bother.
 
Some of the older Catts were riffs on the Bose/Case collaborations, such as a Yukon Jack in damascus and red bone, IIRC. They were Bose/Case quality. I don't know about current production.

Assuming a negative when you get no response to your poll, makes it seem you're one engineer who doesn't want any Case on your train :)
 
I previously mentioned a friend had picked one of these up. After looking at his some more, I decided to pick one up as it struck my fancy.

Discussion of price aside, I do actually quite like it. I like the blade/pattern combo and the texture and color of the scales is really interesting and tactilely pleasant. Mine is put together quite well also, no gaps, good centering, etc.

I was hoping that was the… Case… *snicker*

Build quality would be worth that kind of price range to me. Now if we can get a few more responses like this I’ll start to believe it’s an intentional quality of these knives.

Also that clip is really swoopy. I love that.

Mine and my friend's examples are well done, but yes, difficult to draw conclusions from that. I do wish Case would use that blade for at least some of their normal trappers, it's a very good combination.
