Any bought 12" AK?

Rusty,

For your information. Newfoundland is a large island on Canada's east coast. While not really a remote part of the country, mail seems to take much longer to reach or receive from Newfoundland.

Well, Ron, my 12" and 15" Sirupatis finally showed up this morning. Even after Cliff's use, the only noticeable wear was that the horn handle on the 12" looked like it had been scrubbed with kitchen cleanser ( slight dulling of the shine ) and there was a itsy bitsy little indentation on the blade of the 15" that Cliff had smoothed out. About 20 seconds with a mill bastard file, and you'd never know it had been there. Sides of the blades were still shiny, but there were a few very light vertical lines, I won't even call them scratches.

Ron & Uncle Bill, it's looking like Ron's baby AK is lost in postal limbo. I hope you have another on hand for him. If you don't, mine has only been fondled, and Ron can take mine. I can wait til you can get me another baby AK. He hasn't got any and I've got more than a dozen. Will have to get my wife out of the house so I can sit down and count just how many more than a dozen. Email me, we'll work it out.

Rusty, thanks for your offer and consideration. I haven't gone in to work today. I still have hope that it will be sitting at my desk when I go in tomorrow. Lets see what Uncle has to say on your idea and I will let you know if luck strikes tomorrow.

By the way, do you live in the Bay area?

No, Ron, I'm 70 miles northeast of the east gate of Yosemite and 70 miles south of Fallon, where they moved the Top Gun school to. I'm in Hawthorne, NV at the south end of Walker Lake. The north end ( Schurz ) is an Indian reservation - the Walker River Paiute Tribe's - on which the Ghost Dances of the 1870's and 90'd originated. Now you know why I keep a light cavalry saber behind the seat of my truck in case of Indian trouble, the same way the Nepalis undoubtedly kept khukuris handy...hmmm, and they kept them in case of Indian trouble too! Actually, I've had very little trouble with Indians since I decided six years was long enough to work for the Tribe.

Thanks for your generous offer, Rusty. The ironic thing is Ron doesn't live much farther away from Reno than you do. But take heart, Ron. I sent a khukuri to Waco, Texas priority mail and it took 45 days to get there! I sent one to NY and it took less than 36 hours from my hands to the customers! When you get this figured out let me know.

Uncle Bill

Uncle, since you sent it out on 6/17, you mean we should wait till 8/3 to claim insurance from USPS and then work on another khukuri for me?

Ron

Ron, it is now worse than it was. I was told that I now must wait 60 days before filing insurance claim!

What do you want to do?

PS: I am mailing you a copy of the insurance receipt today. It has the insurance number on it so if you present this to the PO there maybe it will help. You can see by the postage amount it went priority mail. This same thing happened to Jay H. recently. His khukuri had not arrived on time. He went to the PO and they had it there and no explanation of why it had not been delivered.

Uncle Bill
