Sorry if this isnt were it belongs i dont know where to post this. I sent him a sigil to have some work done and he quoted me about 2 weeks turn around time... ittl be 3 months on the 10th hes had it. Comms have been sparse to say the least and i havent heard anything from him since the 16th of this month. Ive tried to contact him a couple times through insta ( where we talked about the work to be done) and i tried his contact form. I dont know if hes just not getting my messages or what. Just want to know when ill be getting my knife back. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I've never had communication problems with him using Instagram DMs. Sorry to hear that and Good Luck. Maybe there is a phone number on his website?

He's been known to do poor work and block alot of people from his ig. But communicate issues would be new to me. I'd avoid due to he doesn't know how to actually sharpen and clip art and other work that looks like a child did it. He will bring the value of your knife way down.

He sold me a knife that had a mirror edge on M390 of which it was foggy and scratchy... And didn't keep an edge worth a damn. There are more than a few sharpeners that had to fix his work all the time. The knife also had a screw that won't come out it was cross threaded and didn't come with any of the hardware they normally come with from the factory. His MO for selling it to me was to solicit work on the knife too. Glad I didn't take him up on that... Cause the work he does is just bad up close.

Its possible he is just ignoring you for whatever reason.

That's interesting... I had not heard all that but then again, I don't keep up w/ others all that much. Knife modders have come and gone over the years, many resulting in pretty terrible situations (not that this is one of those, hopefully not). But it's difficult for those just getting in the game to know who to trust. That's another reason I like bladeforums - you can come here to check out people's record instead of just blindly trusting the fan base on instagram. Even that's not fool proof (skpetch and ccshephard) but it is definitely a safeguard.

Josh at Razor Edge Knives does stellar work..

Why thank you Greg!

I am not the quickest or the cheapest to be sure... But I am meticulous when it comes to communication and organization. If these two aren't in place as one's business grows then things begin falling apart when you reach a certain level.

OP, if you are looking for all the mod work including Cerakote I can help... if just sharpening you can choose from several good sharpeners here - @Jason B. , @T.L.E. Sharp, myself, or others.

I got recommended him by a friend whos had work done by him in the pas. He liked it and the others i contacted weren't willing to take on the work and im not into modding much so I didnt really know where to look.

I heard back from FE. Communications are flowing now and I am getting regular updates

I've heard his lead times for work are way, way off and that his communication is lacking.
I have a FE Origin in M390 I got in a raffle, the owner raffled the knife because the config he ordered it in (ano wise) was not the config he received. It was backwards.

Apparently FE shrugged the issue off, as if it wasn't a big deal. It left a bad enough taste in the owners mouth to get rid of it. It is an OK knife, the grind is tall and pretty thin, it actually came with a very sharp and consistent edge which I was happy with. It's also excessively heavy w/ no mill pockets in handles for lightening and the most unnecessarily fat backspacer I've ever seen. Some minor lock rock as well. I've been thinking about sending it back to him for adjustment and recolouring, but I'm hesitant to do so w/ all I have heard.

He just ruined another very well machined knife

He's now, no longer a Konig dealer. Bill also said no warranty on any modifications. So on top of losing warranty good luck finding someone to buy this crap at any value above what someone paid for the knife new. In face it'll have to be much lower.

Edit: Bill Konig has removed fanatic edge as a dealer going forward (to be fair he's not allowing anyone that modifies his knives as dealers). But fanatic is the one who broke the camels back.

The Koenig website still has FE as an authorized dealer.

while he may have ruined it in a way I'm not aware of, I actually think the scales look pretty neat myself =)

I was looking to get some custom work on a Chaves Ultramar Tanto. Fanatic edge was the only site I could find that did all the mods in one place (sharpening, anodizing, and cleaning) without me personally having to disassemble the knife. Total bummer to hear some of these things.

I hear lots of great things about Josh! Mr. Josh, you don’t do anodizing, or do you?

I only do up through bronze... anodizing is too finicky for me to mess w/ higher voltages than that lol
