Judging by your signature and your question, the following words come to my mind: Spyderco Manix 2 in CPM-M4...:D

I personally have no direct experience with Bentoboxshop.com, even though I have heard of them.

On another note, if you check the forums at Spyderco.com, you'll find a thread (right now it's 2 pages) where a bunch of people are saying that they placed a pre order for that knife at Bentoboxshop.com, so I guess those people deem that place to be business worthy.
I know that a couple dozens posts on an internet forum don't amount to much, I guess, but it's as much feedback as I personally were able to scout...

I've been wondering the same thing. I guess I will find out. Placed pre order with them yesterday. I wants me some cpm m4.

I also preordered a pair. I'm not worried though as Paypal will come through if the SHTF. On a positive note, when I placed my order I recieved a reply within minutes. I am confident things will be cool.

I have PM-ed Mr. Sal just to confirm that everything is straight up, but I have no doubt that it is. I'm just following the admonition of the great Ronaldus Magnus to "trust, but verify".

They have a habit for doing one of the things some folks complained about Spydieguys doing, selling items that are in high-demand and short supply at whatever the traffic will bear on eBay. They're on my "don't use" list for that reason, but if you're ok with that type of marketing, then they're probably ok to deal with.

You are not obligated to pay anything up front either, so if something goes wrong you can easily file a paypal dispute because the purchase is covered by the protection program. It's basically no risk, and more of an inconvenience.

I bought a spyderco persian off of them a few years ago with no problems. Like RevDevil said, paypal has your back (also use a credit card)

 PP rocks, placed a pre-order myself.

Mr. Sal said this is Spyderco's 2nd or 3rd exclusive with Bento Box, so everything seems groovy. I just like to check up on vendors that are new to me.

Powernoodle does not engage in deal spotting.

I'm just asking about the vendor. :)

Powernoodle,

no one was engaging in deal spotting. I thought the ":D" made it blatantly understandable that it was some light hearted humor...I guess I should have put a disclaimer for you...

I guess you also didn't read the rest of my post. I say this because:
1) I told you that I heard about the vendor before (granted, not a great piece of info. But at least you have one person that has heard of these people before: it's called feedback. Better than a kick in the teeth, I'd dare to say)
2) I clearly pointed you to a thread at Spyderco.com's forums in which people state their business practices with the vendor you are inquiring about. So that thread is "about the vendor".

You asked about the vendor and I replied with all I found out about them. Not much maybe, but that was out of my free time and good will TO HELP YOU at NO gain for ME.
Strange, I thought if you replied I would have gotten some sort of "thank you". Instead I get accused of doing deal spotting and the rest of my post is ignored.
Serves me well for trying to help a stranger. Welcome to my ignore list. :thumbdn:

He was being light hearted as well. You misunderstood. No need for the ignore list.

Just a quick update: I am very pleased with their communication so far, they responded to my e-mail almost immediately to confirm my order (on a Saturday evening!) and gave me an estimate of when they expect the knife to ship (March). In the end I ordered two M4 M2s :D.
