Thanks Dark. She is a real beaut! I do hope you get the opportunity to own one too. They are awesome to hold.
Unfortunately, I don't get very many occassions to carry it!:grumpy:
well, here are a few more fighters for you general perusal
first is a nice little Fritz Clauer fighter with wirewrapped handle and special 7 sided nut for the butt
Jim Siska always makes sleek recurve fighters and this one is not exception, especially with the blued guard and butt
Roger Hatt over the past year has been making a big impact on the knife scene creating a nice new Canadian presence. This subhilt fighter has brass and sugalite to addorn the hidden tang within Canadian Birch Burl.
another great sub-hilt fighter make, Schuyler Lovestrand has now turned this model into a tactical although mine is more of an art knife piece
More known for his high end folders, Warren Osborne was equally adept at creating fixed blades as this fighter shows
and last we have a nice fighter by one of the best knifemakers you can hope to fine--Wolfgang Loerchner
is that a forged blade Craig? I like the blued fittings. Nice photo too. I have normally been disappointed in the images the fellow uses that sells your nice knives on EBay. This one is great. REal nice knife. One day I'll get to handle some of your work.
The blade is forged 1084, nitreblued fittings and a hippo ivory handle. The particular knife is listed in The Cutting Edge January issue. It won best bowie and Best of Show at the Proffesional Knifemakers show in Denver earlier this year. if I rember correctly the overall length is 15 1/4" on this knife.
Paul Myers made this knife. Those of you who know Paul, know he rarely makes anything bigger than pocketknives. I guess somebody talked him into this one. It was on a display only table at the Mt. Vernon, IL knife show in November. All I remember is that it was totally awesome, and that I had to have a picture. If this don't qualify as a fighter, I don't know what will!
