Any Folder to Fixed Blade EDC converts out there?

For years now I have carried a Camillus Heat in my left rear pocket. A SOG Trident in my right rear pocket. And a Gerber multi-tool on my belt.

Then I received my Izula...

Now I carry all four. I guess I like options.

The Izula rides in different places on different days. Sometimes around the neck, sometimes on the belt, sometimes in a cargo pocket. But usually I carry it in a front pocket and it all but disappears. I can say this though. At night after I've unloaded all the gear from the day and I walk the dog before bed, the Izula is the one I grab to tag along.

I used to carry a Buck 110 on my belt but traded it for an Izula about 6 weeks ago.
Got a kydex sheath for it and works great.
Still love the 110, however the steel is a pain to keep sharp. Receiving a 4 by the end of the week, will try to edc that for a few.

I've carried folders for a long time. And while I've never had issues with them falling apart, I do like fixed blade. I started with the izula. It was a snap to carry front pocket. I've moved that and my hest over into fold over kydex sheaths, and both work well for pocket carry. I also carry a rc 3 clipped inside my pocket when situation permits.

I'm looking at ways to carry the four and six in public. Six is a bit much to edc perhaps, but I can see the four working. Considering cross draw or scout for the larger blades.

I normally carry both. A somewhat beat up kershaw leek for when I don't want to contaminate the Izula with oil or hydraulic fluid. I have been hassling Cricket Dave about a pocket sheath, can't wait to try that. I have a spyderco paramilitary 2 on pre order and I'll probably get another Izula or a Esee 3 when I get paid for some after hours work I'm doing. Fixed blade feel more natural in the hand to me.

I carried a SOG folder for many years then switched to an Izula & RC4 for edc, but still carry a SAK.

While I'm not totally out of the folder camp, the Izula and HEST has seriously taken over my EDC carry.

I carry a SAK still when I can't get away with a fixed or when I just feel like it but the Izula is my primary edc. I've used a spyderco delica, leatherman wave, and lastly a ritter grip. Don't own any of them now. I carry my izula on the belt above my left front pocket horizontally. It's working great. Thinking of switching to a custom sometime in the future though. I have some ideas I'm kicking around.

I have been carrying a ZT0350 for a long time, and just started carrying a HEST. I admit that it is an adjustment in how I carry a knife, but like most things it'll just be a matter of time before I iron out the kinks.

unfortunately due to my state's and county's laws, i can't carry any fixed blade on my person (concealed or open carry) that is more than 2 inches in blade length. which means i stick to folders for now, but i'm definitely considering edc'ing an izula with scales because i know it can dish out a ton of punishment.

I switched my edc from a Spyderco folder to a tan Izzy recently. Love the fixed blade, fits my big hands and always handy and easy to access. I normally do neck carry or pocket depending on the shirt I am wearing. I am going to try to make a kydex sheath soon with a belt carry. It is a perfect little knife for my needs.

I switched from an Endura (and a few others in the rotation) to carrying an Izula full time. Although I still need something small in the office, so I carry a Spyderco Cricket there.

I still always have a folder on me, though I usually do have a small fixed blade on me as well. The Izula is almost always with me, but I sometimes switch it up with something else.

I used to only carry folders but that has changed. My normal EDC is my Izula and 4 on my belt and either a folder or a custom Trail Master IWB.

I'm still very much a folder.
I've got 4 on me right now (5 if you include my Leatherman Wave). While I like fixed blades, and especially the Izula, the efficiency of a folder (or, say, the blade-length you can carry comfortably) means it always gets the nod for EDC carry. I'll carry the Izula or HEST (or both, usually) when I'm off work, and especially if I'm around home. But that is about the only time.

I currently EDC just a cheap small gerber folder but i have a habbit of losing folding knives out of my pocket. Ive been highly debating switching over to my izula but i guess im just waiting till i lose my current edc. I was thinking about belt carrying the izzy, how do you guys who do it have it set up?

Why don't you carry BOTH?
I always EDC a fixed blade, a good folder and a good multitool. All these come handy. Also, I got a Spyderco Spin on my keychain at all times; for NKP.

My Izula tends to see more rough use and I keep my Small sebbie as a sheeple friendly slicer of fruits and such. 1 handed folders are still really handy especially when you can fold the blade temporarily from a safety aspect while working on something else and transition to exposed blade easily rather then leaving an exposed blade lying around. That said bring on the Izula folder, frame lock, hinderer/strider style blade stops Izula blade geometry drop point, yep bring it already!
