Any Harley riders here? What scales would you buy?

I'm in Harley chain mode again after several years. I made a little boot knife but can't decide what scales or I should say "scale" to use. What do you you tough bikers want for handle material? Bone, Micarta, G-10, problally not antler?

Bruce,

Were it me, I wouldn't try to market the knife to bikers who have never proved to be a good market for me. I would simply put a handle on the knife that complements the Damascus.

Yeah, when we had the Missoula show at the Harley dealership, the black and orange g-10 combos went over pretty well. Some of them guys bleed black and orange.

I agree, and something kinda original; the black and orange Harley knife has been done a million times. Besides, the average Harley Guy will prefer to buy a set of Vance&Hines pipes or a
Corbin seat for what a custom knife will cost him.

Bruce, I ride, just sold my custom chopper due to needing a tractor, I own an ultra classic and take cross country and intra state trips every year. My wife and I met at the Harley shop. " I rode mine to sturgis"

Your on track with the G-10, or any of the micartas. Think of it as utilitarian, and distinctive. A little shine on an industrial material will be attractive. Send me some pics when you are done and I'll put it out to my friends.

Hope this helps my friend

Sorry Bruce,
Can't help you there. I ride Vintage BMW's. I thought about buying a Harley but couldn't afford the
T Shirts.

I've done a couple of Harley chain knives, ebony and orange G-10. I also ride, '88 FLHTC. Moon.

I may have figured it out due to you bad dudes, Thanks!
I found some very thin white and orange liner material and plan to put slightly undersized black G-10 on top of them. Pictures to follow.

The Harley riders that come through here have money and spend it.
I say use some black fossil walrus ivory.
My thoughts are that cheap materials are not what people look for on a MS knife. .....even bikers.
