Any interest in a Mile High Beckerhead gathering???

Don't feel bad MikeyJ....Karma came back and one of my threads went spinning into a hole of gay debauchery too. Something about the size of that Becker handle makes people get all squirrelly I think...

Yeah, I hear ya Tanner. I figure I'll just let them get it out of their system...

I'm over her in Central Utah. Not sure if I can make an out of state trip this year. But if people are interested in doing something in Utah, I'd probably be up for it. By the way, does living at 5,800 feet count? ;)

I sure hope this works out. I am very excited to meet all these cool people in person. So surprised at all the people who want to come from outside Colorado. The more the better!

Well here are some thoughts I have

Location.....?
Contests...(chopping, fire, etc)
Prizes..... Kabar donations if were lucky or we take up a collection
Classes.... Knife sharpening, First aid, any suggestions?
Food.........MEAT to burn.

From watching the other gatherings come together seems like first step is finding a place. If I remember correctly someone usually offers to let it happen on their land. Public land was mentioned as a possibility for us. I'm not sure how we would go about that but don't gatherings over a certain number of people require a permit? I know here in Thornton you need a permit to have a public gathering of over 25 people. So we need some location suggestions and some research on the legality of using those public locations.

Anyone have any ideas to help get this ball rolling?

I'm still totally down for something. I started this thread to gauge interest. I'm thinking maybe late summer, or really early fall...

Up in Roosevelt National Forest (between Lyons and Estes Park) is some really great land. I go hiking out there and shoot guns and stuff, so that may be an option!

Good ideas B.Mauser, someone just has gotta step up, lay down a location and dates and get the ball rolling. Then the rest of yall gotta follow along. DO IT!!

All of these are excellent questions, but I'm not even certain it's necessary. It doesn't have to be a formal gathering with contests and classes and stuff (although an EXCELLENT idea). I was just thinking along the line of a handful of like-minded people hanging out in the woods together.

If we want this to turn into a formal gathering (like those in TN, and the Pac-West), someone else needs to step up. I have no time (or desire) for true event planning! I plan to just go shoot some guns, play with knives, possibly get a little tipsy, etc. You pickin' up what I'm puttin' down? :D

Well that's easy. New list.

Beer, guns, ammo, knives, beer, fishing poles, beer, band-aids and beer.

I do think it would be cool to have an official gathering here though.

Even if it's not official you gotta pick out the basic stuff. don't forget bacon b.mauser!

See? This is exactly what I meant by like-minded people! I like where your head's are at!
