Any Love For Us Old Timers?

Absolutely amazing knives guys!! I'm seeing ones I've never seen before, and didn't even know were out there!! Keep 'em coming please.

Thanks for the links too.

Buck Fan.....I'm glad you got and treasure your Dad's knife, doesn't get better than that.

2 years ago at a small hardware store by me I noticed an Old Timer and and LB7 in the case. I also noticed the USA markings.
They had 2 89OT's which I grabbed, they also had 4 LB7's. I got 3 of them with boxes and sheaths. I left the display LB7 there. Its still there. I handled it yesterday.
Anyway, I've been carrying the 89OT in a sheath on my belt for several months now. Its a great little heavy duty knife.

Wow! What an Old Timer show!! Here are a couple of my favorites; a couple more orginal bone 2OT's ( Nice one Thawk! ), and a bone 8OT from the same period:

i know a hobby store near me in Australia with old schrades, carbon blades and USA marks...they're at the back of his display and when i get enough cash i intend to go in and buy em all. I finished school 10 years ago, they were in there then and when i looked 2 months ago they were still there for same price (i dont think his sold one knife in there except to me in 10 years, just old stock i guess).

I hate knowing those little gems are there and not in my pocket :D

I have the same thought. I have been thinking for a while of going and getting that last one. I keep thinking it would be a cool find for someone to find it and put it to use. I have 1 of the LB7's on me right now, I'm going hunting in a little bit and then fishing tomorrow. I hope to get it dirty today or tomorrow.

Awesome thread thanks for sharing the Old Timers and Uncle Henry knives they are terrific. I work daily with an Uncle Henry 885 and find it stands up to chemicals better than any knife I have tried nickel bolsters, handle and blades.

Thanks. It is great to have his old knife I remember him carrying and using for everything. When I really miss him I carry it with me. Sometimes I just get it out and hold it a while. I also got a small knife from him. Don't know what it was. I had it in a bag with some cuff links and tie tacs. I have not been able to find it. I think a service man took the whole bag. But I can not prove it. I hope I am wrong and find it some day.

Thanks for this thread. It is great seeing all the old timers. A lot of I never knew they made. Keep them coming guys.

Bill

Im deeply impressed of your collektions, truly tresurechambers in some homes I belive.
I once had a 124 UH that went together with a girl I wanted to give something a little extra. I dont long for that girl to come back but it would have been nice to lay my hands on that knife again. It was nice times long gone, I hope she still uses that knife.

Same here in the heart of Europe. I really need to just scrape up the cash and go buy those damn things.

Great thread, all your old timers! Love my grandfather's 33OT (probably the one knife I'd NEVER part with), and the 34OT that I rescued from a popular online auction site recently.

Bosse - The 123 and 124 patterns were a good one. I'd like to think she still uses it.

daedge804....love the bear paw, glad you will treasure your grandfather's knife, that's what it's all about and I know he would be proud you have it.

I can't believe some of the amazing knives I've seen here, I've learned a lot too, some I have never seen before, please keep them coming! Thanks to all for sharing!!

Here's a "Factory" 80T. Bone handle from "Back in the day" When you could go to an antique show and find this kinda stuff laying on a dealer's table (Before the internet). I still beat the bushes trying to find some treasures & still get lucky every once in a while. I guess it's the thrill of the hunt that keeps us going. Barry

I've got a bunch of Old Timers in my collection, having lived reasonably close to the factory. Schrades were available in every store when I was growing up.

My most used ones are the stockmans. Mainly the 80T and the Middleman. The only one that I can find a picture of is one of my 80T's. In my eyes, the most useful stockmans ever made.

Not even sure where I picked up this old thing anymore. It is by no means my only Old Timer or even my only 8OT but it still works so occaisionally I still put it to work. A good knife is a terrible thing to waste.:)

Glad I'm not the only one here who's nuts about Schrades. I've been collecting them since I was 9 years old. My mom and dad gave me an Uncle Henry 897UH for my birthday. Some rotten SOB stole it about 4 years later, and it was replaced with another on my next birthday. I was lost without that knife. I've carved countless wooden fishing lures with it over the years.
I have a few 1985 scrimshaws too. I have a bunch of Schrades, Imperials, Camillus, etc.
I collect all knives, but the old Schrades are my favorites. I don't carry that old 897UH anymore. Too afraid of losing it. I have a Rough Rider copy of it with plain bone handles that I use at work. Off work, I carry mostly Barlows. I have them from Camillus, Case, Boker, Schrade, Rough Rider, Imperial, and Colonial.
I have 3 Schrade Barlows. That doesn't make me an addict, does it?
