Any Microtech EDC's?

I edc my absolute favorite Microtech. Mini Socom Elite auto. Just got a D/a Socom, but that will probably remain a safe queen.

awesome!

back in 2005 i handled a mini socom elite auto with the old claw logo in green-camo - it was so awesome - i wish i bought that instead of the scarab d/e in satin finish i got back then...

because i am hesitant to carry the otfs - dont want to get too much debris inside the action...

This occasionally
Same as OP Alum. handle Socom Delta

Holy Zombie Thread Batman.
As a new member here, I started trolling for Microtech posts and stumbled onto this old thread.

I have put my new Microtech $carab into my daily carry rotation.

I EDC a Scarab for years, just got this one, and an ultratech when I need formal dressing, NEVER has the Scarab, both my last one and this one has ever failed me, I really like MT, planning on getting a Combat Troodon and a flipper

Since there's no Microtech forum, I thought I would just post here.

So I'm just wondering if there is anyone here who EDC's a Microtech(s)? I personally have a Socom Delta Tanto with Aluminum Handle, and because it doesn't have a scratch on it (yet) I have trouble bringing myself to carry it. If you do carry a Microtech, let's see it! I love seeing beat up user Microtechs. Hell, just post a picture of a Microtech if you got it, doesn't matter which model!

On another note, it seems to me that there are two types of people who buy Microtechs. Those who treat them as safe queens and re-sell them. And those who have been carrying the same Microtech for the past 5, 10, 15+ years.

Since I also carry a gun on my right side, I use a knife as a backup and also as a weapon to stop a gun grab. I carry a Microtech Delta Dirac in my left hand pocket or the smaller Dirac if there is little room in the pocket. In my right hand pocket I will carry either a Combat Troodon or MK7 Cypher. This is my load out for more dangerous locations.

If I am just going locally to a friend’s house or to a store I might carry the Microtech LUDT or UltraTech as my safe zone EDC. If I am expecting a heavy duty workout for my knife I will carry the MicroTech D.O.C.

My Socom Elite is one of my favorite knives, and I carry it when I have the option (it's too long for my city, but OK in most of the rest of the state). Great fit and finish and some of the best action I've ever experienced. For a thick blade, it's a surprisingly good slicer.

I never really thought of my Dirac Delta as a defensive carry knife. But since I have a CCW permit, I will make it perform that role, and a OTF is an awesome defensive weapon. “I do not own any pistols right now (sold them all)” I’ll continue to use my Spyderco PM2 as my cutting and main work knife.

To those in fantasy land about using your otf for defense: don't

T Travis Santelmann dude it's like the 4th separate thread you want to gush about your purchase. I get it but just get the knife and enjoy it. This is a necro thread from 2016......

I carry a pink ultratech maybe once week. It’s convenient for light tasks. I admit it doesn’t get a lot of actual use. I suppose I prefer my folders more for most things, but variety is the spice of life.

Not many Microtech threads out there buddy. Not a single review on the knife I bought either. No forums or threads with much about it. There is just very little information out there in regards to carrying a Microtech and using it daily. So there is absolutely nothing wrong with bringing back an old thread with a subject I am very interested in. This is a discussion forum about knives after all.. I am buying in to a new knife, new to me knife company, and it is a new knife design for me too being a automatic otf.

The fact that you are following me so closely is kinda weird..And you are using my own excitement against me?

I am happy about buying it, and your the only guy with a problem with this.

Not for a minute would I consider stalking your post, or anyone else for that matter.

Anyways, let me go gush more as I just received the knife today.

when to drop collision coverage

Nice pics, glad you finally got the knife. Use it and enjoy it. I'm a huge microtech fan.

My point was you opened multiple threads in both automatic (2) and general (necro thread) forums, so chill a bit on the I just ordered a knife and I'm super excited so I'll post everywhere.

What's with the car collision coverage spam attached to your reply?

Only 10 states have a no automatic knife rule as of 2021.
I have used MT knives on duty and off. For OTFs, the UTX-85 is flawless. Owner of Blade ops has edc'd his for years with no problem. The mechanism was changed to a larger one spring from the old problematic two smaller springs.
DOC is great except for original clip. The Stitch is great. Both manual and auto socom elites are flawless. LUDT is the entry level workhorse.
MT does have a Military, LEO, EMS deep discount program.

I edc a microtech socom delta and love it. I am always on the hunt for more vintage 2013 and below microtechs as well. Cash in hand and will buy multiple knives for a deal. I am actively look for more black blade tanto socoms to add to my collection.

I have too many Microtechs per my wife's opinion. I have carried the Halo I for 20 years as my back on my under cover shoulder holster rig. I also use it for a detail where I wear that rig in a suit.
I have a LCC lightfoot and Scarab that doesnt see alot of pocket time. I love my Combat Troodon. Great fit and finish on everything from MT.
Using MT for self defense? Absolutely!
