Any Mule2 news?

just got my call from the store saying they were in and I could come pick up my 2.....leaving the house now lol.

Everyone getting so worked up over this version CPMM4 must be realy good stuff suppose thats why it wins chopping cutting contest all the time.
I want one but cant afford it and by the time i can they will be on ebay for about $500.
Im really wanting the Mule in 3V as a profile such as the Mule in my opinion would be ideal for a super tough steel like that at the right hardness.
M4 sounds amazing stuff but its nothing like as tough as 3V were a small profile knife like the Mule would shine IMO.
I want to see how tough steel holds up to really thin grinds etc.
The M4 will be a amazing knife but im kinda glad im skint as it will let me have funds when the 3V comes round.

Why are you so concerned about toughness?:confused: M4 has better edge holding than 3V. Unless you're using your knife for a prybar, toughness isn't all that important.:yawn:

If you're using your knife as a knife, i.e. to cut things with then M-4 is far superior to 3V.

Can you can get a sheath for this?

You would have to obtain one after market. The whole point of the project is to provide knives in various steels with the same knife at the least possible price. Skeleton handles and no sheaths to save on expense. :)

Just ordered two, Any idea how many are going to be available in this batch? After the first batch E-bay prices got out of hand for us average joe's.

Because of the profile of the blade would give me a good idea how tough certain steels were and worked.
I dont like spending a month sharpening a knife.
Its just an opinion as its a slim knife the tougher the steel the lower you should be able to take the angle down without hitting breaking point 7 degrees would be like a razor and i want to see the a steel that can do that.
I like a knife to hold a edge too but i dont care that much about toughness or edge holding as 12c27 is my fav steel for example.
I know its better for cutting but its not what im intrested in personally about that aspect of the project.
Everyones gonna have diffrent opinions etc thats all it is.

Tazkristi posted on the factory forum that this is another 600 piece run. I don't know how many Collector's Club members opted out of receiving all the Mules, but I bet at least a few did. That was where a third of the first run went, to the Collector's Club. If a bunch of them weren't interested, it will leave more for the general populace.

I agree that a really tough and strong steel can be taken down to a very thin edge. I have an INFI SS4 that is super sharp and can handle it much better than most steels.

While M4 is not stainless I am pretty sure it won't rust nearly as fast as the 52100 which will rust if you look at it sideways. I don't remember the M4 makeup exactly but having a little chromium and especially the expensive alloys that make M4 so cool in the first place also really reduce rust. INFI to use it as an example again is not stainless but has a lot of the alloys like vanadium and does not rust even though it is not stainless.

I'm really excited about mine. I hope some good (and cheap!) sheath makers have some good offerings!

I'll second that. I'm also stil trying to decide whether to try to make scales for it, or have them made.

Does anyone know if "ready made" scales that fit the Mule are available anywhere???? I'd prefer Hickory or Oak, but I guess I'd take almost anything that works. :p

I got my sheaths from Eric at On Scene Tactical and he did a FANTASTIC job.
Here is a photo i have handy of my old EDC(I have a better lighter and a Prybaby G3 now)
that shows it.

I wear it around my neck between 2 shirts. Undo a button on a dress shirt and you can grab it very very easily even sitting down. I was not sure if I was going to keep it wrapped like it was when I sent it to Eric or use it bare so he even managed to make a sheath that worked either way.

I especially like the heavy plastic he uses. It feels much nicer than kydex.
My analogy for it only works for Spyderco fans. kydex is like FRN while the stuff he uses is like G10.:D

Sorry dial up guys for the photo , I had no idea it was that big.
