Any of you gamers P.O.'ed with Starcraft 2?

Eh I don't get into competition video games its senseless. I prefer single player non addicting games.

I just bought a brand new lap top 3 months ago and It does not have those spec. you can not just change a mother board on a lap top. screw the game.

Really?

Like the others who have commented your new laptop should EASILY meet at least the min requirements. New laptops now ship with the i3, i5, i7 processors...and if you caught older stock then maybe you will get the older core 2 duo. These all are vastly VASTLY better than pent 4.

Remember the min processor req of a 2.6 ghz Pentium 4 does not mean you need a 2.6 ghz core 2 duo or 2.6 ghz i7 haha.

Even a 1.5 core 2 duo would BLOW AWAY a 2.6 ghz pent 4. It's not just about ghz, but also about L2 cache and etc.

What are your laptop's specs if you don't mind me asking?

(graphics card matters alot too)

I am a 2.2 gig duel processor amd of course. 4 gig of ram. Ati mobility radeon HD gpu video (what ever that means) I can not find how much ram is on the video card.

Have you tried installing the game? It's a pretty safe bet that if you have 4gb of ram your video card is pretty good as well.

the reason I only buy amd cpu is that they always come with a very good gaming viedo card. I am going to wait awhile so that the price of the game comes way down in price.

I buy AMD because Pentium is always retardedly over priced. Now yeah they might be a BIT BETTER. But my AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black edition is all the processor you need right now and more. For $185 bucks, which isn't the worst wallet breaker at all. I got the MOBO + processor + 4 gigs of ram for $500. Practically a new computer. Minus the video card.

Yeah, I have always done Intel procs in my builds, but this time around I went AMD. Probably cause I'm married now and can't justify 250usd for a little chip to my wife. It was nice though I got PII x4 945, 4gb ram, mobo and a new 750gb hdd all for like 400dollars. My 8800gt is still more than I need but pretty soon I should be able to get a significant performance boost for maybe like 120-150usd.

Meh, that's not very accurate but ok.

every laptop and home base computor unless you build it your self that has a intel cpu in it has there own viedo card in them. evey laptop and home base computor that has a amd cpu has a gaming viedo card in them. unless you found something that I can find down here in florida. I have checked every store and found this out for all of the name brand computors.

Uh, no you're wrong.

Heck just for laughs here's a HP Laptop that has an Intel Processor and ATI video card. If you didn't realise while Intel does produce integrated graphics chips, they don't manufacture graphics cards. Anything that doesn't have integrated graphics is going to have a GPU that isn't Intel. And on a whole nVidia produces better graphics cards than ATI (granted ATI has some great cards as well).

And as far as only AMD computers have gaming graphics cards, that's about the most inaccurate statement ever...nVidia has until just recently been dominating the marketing (at one time with a market share in the 70s) but they ship just as many GPUs as ATI.

But don't take my word for it, here's some examples:

Laptops
HP Intel Core i5-i7 w/nVidea 1gb GT 230M
Dell Intel Core i3 w/ nVidia GTX 260m
Asus G73JH Core i7 w/ ATI Radeon 5870

and I didn't just cherry pick, these are just standard computers...

Desktops
Well, I can go find some. But I think my point has been made. There are computers everywhere that have AMD/Intel processors that have graphics cards that will work great for gaming. It's not the brand that you buy, it's the hardware that matters. Research the hardware and shop around.

when i went shoping for a new laptop i looked at the intel and all that i could find was the intel viedo card in them. i did not see one computor in the stores that had a good viedo cards with there cpu. i went to best buy. where you find these computor at please?? on line??

i went to best buy.

Well, there's your problem. Direct from the manufacturer is going to give you the best options as far as customization and price. If I were going to buy a laptop I would try either direct from the maker (I personal am partial to Toshiba, but Dell, Asus, Lenovo and HP aren't terrible) or Amazon, Newegg.com and CyberPowerPC.com.

If you want a desktop it's always better and cheaper to build your own. It's not that hard, just do a little research and get your hardware from Newegg or zipzoomfly. (tomshardware, xtremesystems.org and anandtech are the places I use for hardware reviews and research)

I have never left Best Buy happy, even if I find what I need they will manage to f*ck up the interaction before I leave the store. And that's if I don't pay 50% higher than I should.

Oh you should definetly be able to play the game since you exceed the min requirements. And although you might not quite reach the recommended requirements, you are pretty close.

And what Ethelred said is right, Best Buy's physical stores almost NEVER carries a full line of available laptops and pcs...they only display a small sample size of what they have availble. Even their website will display alot more.

For example, I just quickly browsed through the Best Buy website and I just randomly picked a gaming laptop to show you: (it even states it's not availble in their physical stores)

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+...lack/9741729.p?id=1218165344675&skuId=9741729

Asus - Laptop / Intel® Core™ i7 Processor / 17.3" Display / 6GB Memory / 500GB Hard Drive / ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics With 1GB GDDR5 video memory.

I definetly advise shopping online for your future laptop or pc purchase, many sites offer free shipping and no tax (unless they own a store in your state) along with other incentives.

Good luck my friend.

Personally, I have bought all of my XPS, and Alienware laptops online from Dell and never experienced any problems. I know there are many cheaper alternatives online as well that will deliver similiar or better performances (and maybe evey better build quality haha), but I really bought it for the power and the Alienware "brand." (It's a personal preference thing like how some people will ONLY buy Apple computers. To each his or her own.)

I second anandtech as an extremely informative site, esp if you want to learn how the new processors work.

Oh man, do not go to best buy to buy anything.....Order it online, sites like newegg.com and tigerdirect offer much better/cheaper products.

my acer motherboard on my laptop blew and i had to get one asap. i am running 13 auctions sites so time was not a optain for me.

The whole Battle.net thing REALLY pisses me off. I don't have internet access on my PC, so dishing out 60, 70 bucks is pretty much moot.
