Yep, got me a D2 model. I found it on Ebay and bought it for $68 plus change for shipping and all.

I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I have it when needed.

I have an Impact D2 Spear Point. Great knife, I'll get some pics up when I can !!!

I have a kabar heavy bowie chops great razor sharp thick spine....stout point for drilling for 50 bucks probably one of the best heavy knife deals going..

hey RescueRiley do you have any pics of the heavy bowie by itself and in action? it sounds like exactly the knife i am looking for sounds like a good price too

sorry no pics....but if you google image it you should have no problem finding it...it's large for a knife 9 inch blade 1/4 inch thick carbon steel and a nice flat grind....I've had mine since x-mas and used it while out on a day hike to get at dry wood in a stump so I could cook my lunch.

No Ka-Bar for me "yet" but I want to get one of their bowie style knives, get rid of the unsightly handle and put a nice block of green micarta on that puppy! should turn out nice.

Here is my Kabar family. The Camp Knife, Next Generation, Warthog, Short Fighter, Three inch skinner , Ceramic hone rod and Warthog folder.
The Warthog is a beast

I have the Classic- plain edge and leather everything. Love that knife. It just feels so solid. Sorry, no pics.

I've got the USMC blade and the heavy bowie. I'm not much of a fan of the size and ergonomics of the 'basic' kabar knife, but the bowie is really great. Good chopper, sharpens up great, and good balance. Easy to choke up on for fine work and still be comfy in the hand. Definitely not a bad answer to the 'if you could only have one' question.

Edited to add bad picture:

I have 9 Ka-bar knives.All of em work awesome.great knives that don't break the bank.(Turok uses one too.lol)

I am leaning toward the cutlass machete, it's like a huge camp knife with no clip point.
Anyone have one of those?

I have a whole load of Ka-Bars, but my favourites are the Large Heavy Bowie and the Large TDI LE knife. For wilderness use, the Large Heavy Bowie is a great value for the money, if you like the large chopper type. It's stout and durable, and chops well. Good steel, good handle. The weakest point is the tip, but that shouldn't be news. :)

Ive got an old Vietnam issue USN (USMC with different markings). I also picked up a 1211, which is basically a USMC with grippy handles. I love it, it goes with me on every road trip, backpacking trip, and is always in my bag o' useless crap. I also consider it part of my trio, along with a vic farmer and CS TrailHawk.

Yes, I realize it's heavy, but I inexplicably love it. Not to mention it's near bullet proof, just don't kick it when it's been sunk tip first into a log, apparently that'll kill it.
