Any one hunt with an air gun?

I used to use an old crossman air rifle of my dads to pick off the squirrels around the house, incredibly accurate with a pellet and not bad with a bb either. Since we're out in the sticks a bit I've moved on to a 22 rifle or shotgun occasionally but I do miss the days of seeing how few shots it takes to cut a coke can in half with bb's :)

Your rig? Any details to share? Looks like Precharged pneumatic, which takes it out of the running for me, but I can appreciate the performance.

Here's a pic of my pre-bolt action Crossman 1377 American Classic for those who haven't had the pleasure of handling one:

^Above post corrected, note the plumger type coking hammer that must be pulled back before firing and the slide that you must physically grasp, pull back, and twist to load pellet into the breech.

Airgun is a Philippine made PCP. JBC is the name ,it folds for ease of carrying or storing,17" Brass barrel, steel reservoir. Stock is Philippine Ebony otherwise known as Kamagong.Scope is Nikko Stirling Targetmaster.Power can be adjusted via screw that pushes the hammer spring underneath the pistol grip.Shoots H&N FTT's at 900 FPS.

I like squirrel hunting with airguns; current weapon is an Evanix AR-6 Renegade PCP, a six shot .22 caliber revolver rifle. Years past I used several different spring piston guns.

Here is a pic of my "sleeper" 1322 with a successful kill. If you look closely, you can see I hit him right under the ear for an instant death. This shot was at about 8m standing, one hand off-hand. Bagged 7 kills that day.

Mods to the gun include a hand made and tuned rear iron sight, stainless breech screw, 22oz trigger and crowned muzzle. I also shoot online competitions with this gun.

Thanks for the links Sodak that was interesting , I have read somewhere about that gun it was good to see the pictures .

Here is my pistol but I've been looking into a PCP gun well someday maybe .

i have a .22 caliber benjamin discovery that i modded and amateur tuned myself. the thing is nuts for an air rifle! once you do a pcp you really are one in a whole other type of rifle than the springer and pumps. lighter weight along with quick and effortless reloading and you can get some power out to match. i havent gotten anything with it yet but after doing all the work i did it seems to be ready for rabbit season. they wont know what hit them!

I mostly use air rifles to remove garden pest RWS34 in .177 will take a coon Know that for a fact ;)

I use a Gamo Whisper which has worked ok so far. Very accurate, but I should probably upgrade the scope. More than likely I will wait and just upgrade to a nicer package as a whole eventually.

Had a good evening hunting with the 1322 today, took four starlings and a ground squirrel at 15 yards. I need some really good hunting pellets, was using some old Winchester round nose today because they're cheap and I don't mind shooting them. The skirts hold up well and they fit the bore nicely. My RWS pointed have flimsy skirts and often pass right through leaving th animal to flounder about until disatched with a ".blank" shot.

Any recommendations for good .22 hunting pellets?
