Any one hunt with an air gun?

I have two beemans in 177,spring piston, one shoots 700 fps,and the other 1000 fps, most of the time I had to have a fallow up shot on squirrel, got a crosman 22 cal. with the new nitro piston, shoots about 900 fps,if I do my part its usually a one shot kill, and the good thing is if I cock it in the morning it will shoot to the same point of aim that night.

I had no idea here was so many air heads on here. Ive got a Ruger Airhawk that i got for a steal from cl at the begining of spring. I love that thing. With the right pellets and dialed in, I was able to hit a penny from 25 to 30 yards, not really much into hunting but a fan of shooting and its more fun shooting that in the yard with my buds than burning throug ammo/money at the range.

Crosman premiers, trophy, and JSBs
Have not visited with Tim in a while, but he is good folk.

I'll have to order some soon. I've been lucky to get meisterkugelns locally for a reasonable price. My 1322 just loves those things and shoots them very well. Especially whe weight sorted, incredibly consistant. Maybe I'll ceck out what my local shop has for hunting pellets first, maybe get a few small tins to check out accuracy.

Tim is good people. He helped me out on my MKI a while back and also threw in a facotry barrel with my reseal kit for $5 extra.

My 1377 crosman is apart the machinist I know is making a flat top piston and modifying the valve

I use my trusted tried and true BSA Supersport Magnum .22. I have had it for a few years and it keeps going like a champ.

Had a good evening hunting with the 1322 today, took four starlings and a ground squirrel at 15 yards. I need some really good hunting pellets, was using some old Winchester round nose today because they're cheap and I don't mind shooting them. The skirts hold up well and they fit the bore nicely. My RWS pointed have flimsy skirts and often pass right through leaving th animal to flounder about until disatched with a ".blank" shot.

Any recommendations for good .22 hunting pellets?
I seem to recall that crossman dome pellets in .22 have a high grain for basic pellets; something in the 14.(.?) Area

Thanx, I'll check those out too, but I am trying to remember if those were tried in my 1322. High FPE is important, but I don't take long shots very often so something even a bit lighter that shoots well might work. Too bad I won't shoot my box of Crosman Super Pells, those things look like a cylindar compared to the diabolo shape most common now! Those had some retained energy like a freight train!

Higher grains shoot slower but hit harder generally, though there's a point where that's not true.

There's tools on the interwebs that let you calculate the Jules (force) your producing by entering you FPS and Grains of your shot, kinda like a calculator.

No calculator needed, I prefer paper and pencil, been doing it for years. I know roughly what each weight class shoots MV from my 1322. Just need to find a devastating hunting pellet that has a strong skirt for carrying in a tin or pocket. If anyone has a selection of .22 hunting pellets that can spare 10 or 12 of each for my testing I'll send a SASE to cover your troubles.

I own an HW30S and an HW77 ,both in .177 . I love the HW30S,very accurate and consistent. I will probably sell or trade off the HW77 though. No longer hunt, but I do love putting holes in paper, and the occasional little plastic army man. ;)
