Most of my family are one knife people. My mom and dad both carry little SAKs and my dad has a bigger folder or two if he needs them.
My brother in law carries a leek, used to be a fury when I first met him, then a gerber para frame, now a leek.
My oldest sister actually puts a lot of what I have to shame since I bought her a BM Nagara on clearance at knifeworks with her name etched on the blade.
I just gave my other sister my old mostly worn out chive for beating on at work, and if it comes back to me for a sharpening I might just hand her my tenacious.
Even then though I only have a few blades, an rc3 for the woods, an izula for a hard day at work (having a hard time using this little guy enough) a zdp delica in my work bag, tenacious in the glove box. Then the little guys, h1 ladyguy SE on my lifejacket or pocket, kissing crane med. brown mule and case CV mini muskrat that both see everyday carry at work. Along with a tti charge thats always with me, this week along its helped fix a washing machine, my car, two computers at least, an outboard motor and tweeked a scooter.
I think your average knife user is a one knife person, of all the people I know I can only think of a few that have more than two, and those are mostly because the first one was a POS that broke on them and they bought something better.
Man, great post, but do you not see the humor & irony in it at the same time.
