Any one remember (Grizzly Adams)

I used to watch that show all the time.

Seeing that youtube video sure does bring back some fond memories.

Thanks for posting that.:):)

Ha! looks like some jokester added the wiki postscript very recently. I have to admit, it made me laugh out loud. Did anyone seriously believe that bit? in any event, it also looks to have been edited back out. I do remember when he had a run in with the law over some drug related thing, but that seems like a while back.

I have good memories of the show from when I was a kid, but hadn't thought about it in years. I'm kind of surprised that to my knowledge, the show has never really been rerun all that much on the interim.

It was a pretty good show. Interesting note is that my cousin raised rabbits and sold several that were featured in the show.

ROCK6

I remember him, and his indian friend Nacomma, and the mountain lion that attacked him when he first moved into the woods.

Yeah, loved watching that show as a kid. Not a teenager. So I'm not THAT old, right?

Loved it as a kid.

That and Daniel Boone, Davey Crockett, Swamp Fox. . .

I wonder if I saw them now if I'd think they were any good?

Probably not...but thanks for reminding me about Swamp Fox...and don't forget Robin Hood.

My favorite show as a kid. Seems kinda corny by todays standards, but show that helped me realize, even as a child, that not only did i have a connection to nature, but that i am part of it.

They played that show here too. I watched quite a few when I was small.

As for the skepticism of the Wikipedia entry – I don't think there is any doubt that Haggerty was serving up the marching powder. It is well documented and he got porridge for doing it. The only controversial thing I've come across [not mentioned in that Wiki] is that he got his star removed from the Hollywood walk of fame. I gather that was due to a spelling error giving him the star in the first place and not the intended recipient. It was removed, but he subsequently got one of his own.

Wikipedia is great but it is not an oracle. It is great because it provides extremely easy access to clues that one can then FOFO about properly.

If you have not already done so, read a biography of the real G. Adams. He died a year after geing mauled by a bear. It was one of his tamed bears that came to his aide and saved his life. From that attack, he had a hole punctured in his skull in which his brain was exposed. He was sick, needless to say, and died a year later.

Quirt it was filmed in the Rocky Mountains of Utah. Soapstone Basin and Uinta National Park.

I think the reaction in the earlier posts was due to this revision, coincidentally made Jan 8 and edited back out the next day. Down in the references section you'll see a ridiculously juicy bit of gossip... too ridiculously juicy to be true. :D
