Any other FAL fans out there?

The FAL will always be a bit special to me because it is the rifle I schlepped around when I served in Holland, and I schlepped it around some. I cursed it more than I appreciated it then, because the damn thing is so heavy (compared to a Diemaco C-7, which replaced it over here).
But it is an excellent rifle to shoot, never failed me once, and its looks are still awesome I think. It looks good with a tactical sight on it as well.
I once got a chance to handle the version with the folding stock and shorter barrel, and it is even nicer. I also shot the FALO (full auto HB version) and it's a kicker as well. The Belgians created a legend with this one, AFAIC.
I'd own one but we're only allowed to own 5 firearms at one time, and my quotum is full. They're really cheap to buy refurbished, so probably the day will still come. :D

I grew up on FALs, I have a picture of me holding my Fathers Belgian FN FAL when it was taller than me.......still shoot that one and a few more.

Nice group of fal's you've got there. The only fal i've got left is a sar-48 bush rifle. Man i could kick myself now because i at one time had a Belgian G-1 new in box with the real hensoldt sniper scope and original mount. I also had a like nib belgian G-1 fal, a 50-63,50-64 lightweight and a 50 match all belgian guns.
But unfortunately sold them off. Today they would be worth quite a chunk of change. I would'nt mind getting a Dsa like the one you've got though. That's pretty cool with the camo finish.

That's a nice looking rifle collection you have there! Those knives are pretty nice too. ;) Did you see season 2 of Top Shot? The FAL was the most hated, most poorly manipulated and least accurate weapon used. I thought it was quite surprising that the competitors had no experience with a FAL.

Apparently the fals they were using must have been inaccurate or they were'nt familar with them. My Belgian 50.63 would routinely shoot 3/8" groups at 100 meters but it did have a williams trigger job on it.
I also used to shoot my Belgian 50.00 at 600 meters and make neon painted milk jugs dance, off a bipod of course. My fals never jammed on me though, and if they ever did start jamming or got really dirty you'd just adjust the gas ring.

I have a Fal built by ARS, he does quality work. Id have to send him a kit and receiver if I wanted a anything else made by him though.

Drift Draft-Springfield did assemble an Isreali Heavy Barrel. They imported new Israeli HB kits and paired them with an Imbel receiver. Mine was swapped for the DSA. :)

Century built

I don't own one but am a fan because I have experience with this variant of it. The South African R1.

I have a great affection for the FN too ... the SLR ( L1A1 ) was my first issue rifle back in 1982. I also got to use the Argentinian and South African models which were very similar with the folding stock. The burst fire option on the Argentinian FN's was prized during the Falklands when clearing entrenched positions ... we took a few back with us and these were popular when a compact weapon was needed for certain Ops ... later we started to use the HK "family" and the HK 33 and now the HK53 are used but those of us who did our initial training on the SLR all hold the FN's in high esteem:thumbup:

I love any FAL with the SAW grip. I can't get my hands on the factory grip with the extreme angle. Great rifles, everyone.

Beautiful rifles!
I have one, my DSA SA58. I need to take some new pictures.
