Any plans to bring back the Becker Brute?

Its too bad about the Brute. I have been trying to pick one up for a while now.
 
I hate to hear about the Death of the Brute...my personal favorite of all the Beckers no matter who made it.....Glad I have a pair(Camillus)....
Ethan I know the Machax & Brute are dead but I was wondering if you & Ka-bar would do a limited run in the future. I know cost of tooling up a machine & ETC is a cost factor but I would love to see a run of the pair.

It is not just the laser path (or water jet) but all the ancillary stuff a.... run of sheaths,the grinding room set up, and all the little admin stuff..catalog design maybe a different box size etc, etc......In order to deliver the value for a buck you guys expect from BK&T, that stuff has to be ordered in quantity and it really does add up fast.....I hate to be disagreable but I really want to see that money and energy in NEW stuff I have been waiting a LOOOOONG damn time for....Maybe in a year or two when the economic situation is clearer and my desires for NEW are somewhat satiated, I can talk John into some short runs of nostalgia blades ......If I try right now I would be able to hear the laughter without benefit of the telephone and it is a long way from here to Olean......

I really do appreciate the continued interest in, and loyalty to the BRUTE but I beg both understanding and patience(I HATE being patient)........

i guess the Becker multi tool with folding brute, blade, tactool blades in talonite is going to wait :)

I never got the original Brute, and would absolutely be down for a kabar model. But your position is entirely understandable and especially so during this economy. As much as I'd like to see the brute, I'd really like to see any new design that gets you that excited!!

I believe after the Christmas season I'm gonna have to break down and get a companion...
 
Actually Bladite, I figured a Machete blade with a tactool blade for the really fine stuff.....

Since the BK1 is not an option, any thoughts on selling the design to one of the custom makers on the forum? Not sure of all the legalities on something like this, but there seems to be a definite pocket of interest among BF members.
 
I love the design & the utility factor of the Brute....It is one of my top 3 users....but all I can hope for is a limited run but also I love to see the new designs as well ! one thing is for sure whatever Ethan decides,I will be there waiting to buy it ! LOL
 
I'd love to have a Brute too, so I hope it's reintroduced someday. In the meantime the good news is that Ethan is a knife nut like us, not a corporate bean counter, so he's on OUR side. I have faith that he'll design other really cool blades, so I sleep well at night. :thumbup:
 
I had a Brute, but in a weak moment, my brother wrestled it from my grasp! :(
However, I still have my BK9 and he really loves the Brute. :)
 
Though I must accept your decision Ethan I do hope you will reconsider at some point in the near future. I do think you have under estimated the popularity of the BRUTE with KA-BAR as the manufacture. Many other manufactures are producing great survival knives. I just picked up a Kershaw Outcast because it was favorably compared to the BRUTE. IMO it is a very good knife but does not come anywhere close to what you created, nor do any of the others I have or have looked at. If anyone knows of a knife, as I said on another thread that has the strength versatility and sheer beauty of the BRUTE please let me know because I have not seen it. Ethan your BRUTE beats the competition by a mile or better, I know there are others who must feel the same way. So please reconsider. No doubt it would be sound business decision and make alot of your customers very happy. Until than anyone selling a genuine Ethan Becker BRUTE please PM me I'm buying

I feel like beatin a dead horse so with that said I too would like a brute. That or a patrol machete but at this time I can only dream of their chopping abilities.
 
Maybe if enough people beg and whine long and loud enough Mr Becker will have pity on us and give us a opportunity to buy a KA-BAR version of the BRUTE. Than again he may become so disgusted and sick of the beggin and whining he will ban us from buying any of his knives ever.
 
As BA as the Brute is the news of seeing the new works from Ethan will work for me.
