Any recommendations for $1000-$1500 EDC Folder

My current EDC is Falkniven PXL folder. It is too bulky, average cutter and too plain looking. It weights 6.25 oz which is too heavy for my pocket. Initially, I've got excited about Chris Reeve carbon fiber Sebenza 25, b/c it weights 4.0 oz. Then I started to watch YouTube about the knife and in the end I've lost interest in Sebenza, apart from some issues, it is still plain looking knife.
This led me to custom made knives. I'm not collector but I am interested in one EDC folder which stays with me for many years. The handle must be eye pleasing art work, blade high quality steel (which steel I should look for in my price range?). I'm ready to spent $1000-1500 for my only one EDC Folder. Weight between 3.0-5.0 oz. Even with high tag price, I'd not afraid to use it for cutting boxes, etc.
I'm looking for something unique, which very few people have it.

Check out the Knifemakers section under folders in the exchange and find someone there to build you your custom.

Look at William Henry; very unique ones to be had and in the price range you specified.

Sent an email with a few custom knife shops email addresses. Just go to the sites and check out their inventories.
This will give you an idea of what's out there and what your budget will buy.

A Peter Rassenti, a Brad Southard(It can be done if you are patient) a Gavko, a Todd Begg will all fit your bill. However, if you want something truly unique you could always have someone build one for you.

Any Rockstead with YXR7 steel:thumbup:

Agreed!!

In fact there are a few in zdp-189 I wouldn't mind. But if your planning on cutting boxes and such I would probably opt for the YXR7 steel as well. Highly recommend them as long as you don't mind a limited number out there being the same as yours.

This is the one I just ordered.

You are right the F PXL is a lot of knife to carry around. I had the same issue and went for the Spyderco Delica 4 FFG.

Here are some of the places that I buy my custom knives from, and that I TRUST, and CAN highly recommend! I guarantee, that one of these guys WILL have something that will float your boat! :D:D

If I wanted to spend that much on a knife, I would support one of our custom makers here on BF.

Thanks everybody for posting suggestions here. I will follow every lead posted here starting on the weekend, like most of us I have to slave myself until Friday. From limited research I was able to do, I was impressed so far by William Henry Kestrel series (I've seen it on KnifeArt.com). Those are eye candies for my taste, particularly the one with Mammoth Tooth, oh boy... The only problems with those beauties were the size. The blade only 2.0" length and 1.7 oz weight. I would not be able to feel it in my pocket and it means, probably, I would loose it sooner or later. So the similarly looking knife with blade 2.7"-3.1" length and weight 3 oz-4 oz would be my only EDC and I'd sing from my roof after purchase of such "life companion." Regarding custom knife made to my specifications, I don't know enough about engineering details of the knife to say what I want and what is worth $1500. I would order custom 1911 Les Baer gun (he, he) but knife... I will pass on that. As it was suggested here, I will explore more of this website for local outstanding craftsmanship.

William Henry is eye candy for sure but like you said some of their knives are on the small side, but they have more than just one model and there is at least one larger model. I actually chose this one.

check out Rod Olsen quick flick carbon fiber model at knifeart,I know its quite a bit less than what you had in mind but a very nicely made edc that fits your desires. Also I have quite few Les baers (mostly commanches) and due to Les just having a price increase across the whole line of 300.00 you will be lucky to find one used for 1500.00.Hope the knife recommendation helps.

Very cool looking toy Dddrees...particularly the metal part looks awesome. On the picture looks like it has an element of copper. I hope, it is not only the lighting.
