Any scraps of steel?

I have just started, using 12c27 found in South Africa in affordable sized sheets. The hunt and history of making the knife is part of the pleasure. Gotta send my first effors for heat treatment in South Africa, the next time I travel there on business. Cuts the costs when the company is paying for your milage.

Mine too, well, I've seen 144" of 1" aisi 01 drill rod for $80, but the company doesnt offer delivery to the UK, directly.... wondering if you know anything about USPS for shipping something that size here?, thier site provided no clues.. :(

But in a few days I'm off to a scrap metal merchants, a neighbur told me about it, funny how I couldnt find it listed in any directories, lol, if I can't satisfy myself there, it'll be that 01 drill rod..somehow.
