• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Any secrets to a good feather stick?

Thanks MRpink!

Fuzzies or feather sticks are a great way to pass the time on a long winter camping trip. Considering night is pretty long, you can learn to make a decent fuzz stick in a single night. Practice is your best friend. Remember, increase the surface to mass ratio of the wood with many fine curls, not a few thick ones. The fine ones will ignite more readily.

I finally had a chance to get out and practice with two of my knives.

I spent quite a bit of time working on these. I appreciate all the tips and the advice. Push the knife, and pulling the stick worked well to control the pressure. I also angled my knife to help it slice, rather than trying to just push at it. Woohoo!
