Any Survivors heading to BladeShow?

Hey HK, congrats on scoring a couple of those NTM knives. I'm going to be looking to score a couple of his kitchen knives here on the Forum.

In one of his PMs, he had mentioned that he was taking "some" LCs to Blade so what was on that tab;e could have been it! For those who want one of his LCs, he also had mentioned that he was targeting to make and finish about 40 of them in the next few months. I am sure that if Guy & Ellie set up a table / booth at Blade, their tools will be gobbled up just like NTM's by the blade hungry piranhas!

Without a doubt. That would be a feeding frenzy for sure :)

Casino, the kitchen knife is wonderful, we use ours all the time. I would love to score one of his light choppers. I think I am going to concentrate on it and another field knife to replace the one I let go. I really respect Nathan as a maker. Like Guy, he's always pushing forward. And the collaboration between the two of them is sure producing some awesome product for the likes of us!

HK, Justin and I want one of his kitchen knives each so I'll be keeping an eye for his offering on the Forum for the both of us.

I really like the collaboration between these two young bloods. I am sure that there are quite a few old hands who approach knife making from different angles, but these two men are offering some really top shelf stuff for really excellent prices as compared to some of the better known names out there. Additionally, Guys larger blades like the 10 and the 12 are really BARGAINS! No doubt that the man is really selling those GSO 10s and 12s at a discount and if he wanted to follow a business model like NTM, Guy could easily get 30%-50% over his site's current list prices if he only offered a handful at a time. Two different business models altogether and they don't really trespass on each other. Nathan's knives have more of that "user" look to them and the new GSOs can actually become instant collectibles with the detail in which Guy goes into them! I like both of them and I will spread some cash around with both of these two young businesses.

Thank you CS, you are a good fellow  Hopefully I can get in on the next sale in a couple weeks, and I'll PM you if I see something about it as well.

"Two different business models altogether and they don't really trespass on each other." I think you're right about this, and that they are friendly competition. Both are hard to come by, but the folks that really keep after them seem to get one in their hands. It's pretty cool that Nathan takes some stuff to Blade. They sell so fast here that I'm sure he doesn't need to, but man, what an opportunity. Someday I am going to make that trip :fingers crossed:

Thanks for the kind words HK and you're awesome fella yourself. I recall that you were very kind to me from the beginning when I walked in this Forum.

I just noticed that one of NTM's Filed Knives sold on the Exchange in a matter of minutes. Good problem to have and for both Nathan, Guy and those of us who buy their knives ;)

That was a cool field knife with those butterscotch handles! I really like the Westinghouse, too, but I think that one is long gone. I got one in the blue denim that's laminated with a layer of black g10 I think, it feels very good. Have you got your LC? The finish on the field knives reminds me of the tumbled that Guy was using, I was wondering if the LC was finished in the same way. Glad to count you as a friend bud.

I'm not sure what all he took, but ya if that's all, they'll go about as fast as one of his sales threads. I've got the kitchen knife and a field knife. Both are great.

That Field knife is on my list for sure. His stuff just keeps getting better and he seems like a really humble guy.

Oh yes, I received it all bright eyed and bushy tailed on Tuesday as soon as the USPS went to work on the short week! Funny thing is that I went to that thread to check something out and this one guy before me at # 3 had made a post that very same day about not having received NTM's email yet (Jo's email had gone to his spam) but I already had the LC in my hands! LOL, but I didn't rub it in. I was actually very impressed with NTM that he didn't p*ss back on this guy as Nathan & Jo could have easily had their money much more quickly from 10 other guys behind the first five time stamps, who had put their names for unlikely seconds. That tells you that those folks at NTM are also very honorable people as are Team Survive!

Onto the LC, yes the similar type of "field" finish as the old school GSO but I would say perhaps a tad smoother than those old style GSOs, but then again I never held one of those in my hands! I also received the LT Wright Overland machete which I put to immediate use today chopping off some over grown palm tree branches. This machete is a beast too and i will be taking some photos this weekend. I didn't want to put the LC to such light tasks like chopping off measly palm branches because it could get all fat and lazy :D

Thanks for your friendship HK

That Field Knife must be another laser beam! Isn't it like 15 dps and a slightly thinner spine than our beloved GSOs? That said, I am going to give my laser beam business to Guy & Ellie by preordering a Survive! GSO 4.5 BC.

I'm going to post them up after this weekend Standard ;)

The machete is a very nice and hefty one. Feels, looks and hacks much better than an ESEE which I used to own (was terribly flimsy) and the TOPS 230 which I liked but still gave away to my younger brother. I noticed that LTWK took a bunch of them to Blade and DLT Trading where I ordered it from is already sold out! Initial word of advise though:

If anyone is interested in these machetes, buy them directly w/o the kysex sheath from LTWK for $115 and pay the $8 shipping, instead of paying $145 which includes the sheath from their authorized dealers (like DLT) with free shipping. Their kydex sheath is an absolutely craply made sheath and waste of the $30. It is really that BAD! Save the $$ and put it toward a nice leather sheath because the machete is a keeper although it is expensive, it is very high quality (so far) and I think very comparable with the Fiddleback Forge 12" ones but with the Bolo look (which I personally prefer) as opposed to FF's Bowie/Parang hybrid type of look.

We are exhausted. Walked miles. Nathan is a class act, and we bought a total of 5 of his knives. Also spent a lot at Miller brothers.

Brian, thanks for the pics! I'm envious, looks like an amazing time!

Care to list the various models you walked away with today? I love all those brands!

Awesome, you all are loading up, looks like you got some nice stuff!

Hopefully NTM doesn't sell all his knives before I get there in the morning, I would like to check them out.

Nathan has 1 light chopper left. I was shocked.

We bought a 10 inch Miller Bros M 8 special, and a standard M 8. A Fiddleback Camp knife, and a Becker Necker.

From Nathan, we bought a Field knife with new Delta heat treat. 3 of the 6 inch utility fighters... One of which is in Elmax. They will be amazing steak knives, and useful for butchering sheep, deer, and steers. And 2 of the 8 inch Shivs I'm 3v.

The Miller Bros are a great bunch of guys. Very friendly and helpful. They are so busy that their custom ordering is closed currently to catch up...

So cool!!!!! After things calm down for you and you're back home and maybe in this thread or the "other knives" thread I'd love to see your entire haul laid out, especially the Miller bros and NTMs. So cool!
