What are the specs? Looks like it has promise. Hope it's 3/16" thick or thinner with a good edge.

When did this go up? I've been waiting for something good from Scrap Yard it's been to long now. Also hoping from something from swamp rat.

It's a bit thick, but probably the closest thing to a Busse bushcraft blade.

Send it out to Ban or one of the others to strip and do a full convex job on it, thinning it to .187".

Or just wait. The way things have been going at Busse lately, there will probably be a Boney or Anorexic version not too far in the future.

Thats a nice one........ I liked the SAR4, just wish it wouldve been a bit smaller(overall).

Im sure it will be good, Busse makes nice stuff, in America, with a great waranty.

I really want a BW Mistress.....

A bit on the thick side at .220". I like my Basic 4, which appears quite similar, except for being M-INFI, and having Resiprene C handles. It's thick for my taste, but not horrible with the full flat grind, and usable for most stuff when you've got a good edge on it. Problem with blades this thick, short, and most specifically narrow, is that the geometry doesn't match the realistic uses of the knife. I keep meaning to send it to someone like Tom Krein to have reground, or have a "relief grind" in the form of a hollow ground section that maintains the edge profile and strength, while thinning the area directly behind it. That might have me using it more, instead of just as a beater.

I like Cpl Punishment's idea of having it convexed, too(which should increase cutting performance on materials both thicker and thinner, and it's ability to be used for splitting, as in batoning-though a blade this short and thick doesn't really need much improvement there).

That's what I'm hoping for. I held off with visions of a thinner version.

Of course, it's thinner than the RAT RC-5, which comes in at .25.

That's the first useful looking Busse, minus the thickness.
No need to get that argument started. Getting the fanboys riled up will just ruin yet another Busse thread.
They've made several of similar(and both larger and smaller) size that have better geometries.

Guess you missed the original Lean Mean Streets then. :D

BTW, the Boss Street appears to have the same quilted scales, which are quite comfortable.

you beat me to it Guyon. the lean mean street is my all time favorite edc blade. has more carry time than most of my others put together. a true "perfect" design imo

my thoughts are that the new Busse is most likely a darn good knife, and most likely wildly over priced.
