Hahaha....Dude I say all the time wehn people and my wife ask why I pay as much as I do for my blades...."I dont Golf"

 No kidding.... That hobby is expensive any way you look at it. You even pay to be able to use your own expensive equipment!

It looks good,I am thinking about ordering one.I would be more into it if it were satin.

Check out disc golf :)

I've gotten in the habit of tossing a putter in my backpack when I go out for overnighters. It's fun to wake up and play catch with a friend or make up your own holes to toss.

Here's what my Busse safe queens look like:

What will it do that a Mora 200 won't? Well, it will do everything that a Mora 2000 will, as well as handle heavy duty tasks that involve lateral stresses. It will also baton much better. It will also (hold your breath here) cut better. That's right, it cuts better. My primary/seconday grind is much less than the saber grind used on the Moras. Plus the edge lasts longer thanks to the steel and heat treat. That doesn't mean that I don't like the Mora 2000, I do. I keep one in my briefcase, and one in my truck. But it doesn't measure up on close inspection to this other knife, despite what others may say. The Mora 2000 certainly has it's place, though, and I won't cry if I lose it.

I wish someone would define "working man" and a "working man's salary" so I know what is meant by that. I work for a living, do I qualify?

Man. That would be a hard call..................
It depends on geography and "skillz", I reckon.

I have a hard time believing that beast is a better slicer than a mora. Moras are supper thin, I just dont see a coated blade being a better slicer.

Back on topic, I like the new Boss release but I agree that it is just too thick. I use some thicker knives such as the bravo 1, and my Busse batac and I love em but they arent the best slicers. Second, i find coatings really take away from cutting ability. I find it drags quite a bit.

If this guy were satin and as thick as the rc4 (it looks a lot like the rc 4 actually, just a smaller choil) Id take it in a second. For now I think my bravo would be a better choice for me:). However, I am looking forward to my BWBM-- I think that will be a great large chopper for me:)

"Working man" typically means 50k or less income a year, average being 35-40. Is that a coot, or Howler?

I love everything about the knife, but the thickness. If it was thinner, I'd be all over it. Hopefully there will be a thinner version out sometime soon.

It isn't my Grail, but I'm getting one, and I am going to use it hard. At that price point, hard to pass up.

On topic....I think the Tank Buster is an awesome knife. I like that you could chose one with no coil and no swedge if you like. The other options were great to. I don't believe busse needs to offer so many options on all there knives. But some options should be. The coil doesn't look so bad (someone post a pic of this knife please) and neither does the talon hole. I like the talon hole for fastening a D guard on the big choppers. On a knife this small it won't allow you to choke up on the blade as much. But it could work to prevent a severe slice of the hand in wet conditions. It's a hand guard in a way that's not in the way so much and functions for d guard attachment (or just use para chord if you like).

Mora's might be thin at the spine, the primary edge angle isn't. I've mic'd them both, and this bandicoot has a *signficantly* more acute edge than the Mora's do. It cuts far better.

Again, I'm not speaking bad about Mora's. I'm just trying to show that it's easily possible to improve upon them, and this knife (a bandicoot) isn't that thick. If this looks like a "beast", then you haven't held one. The coating doesn't affect it at all, it sharpens off of the edge as I put it on the stone.

It's a coot, thanks for the definition!

sodak defiantly puts all of his knives to work.:D

I really like the Mora 2000 but it is a different class of tool.

I choose to buy nice knives instead of iShiny pods/phones and going out to movies and dining out. I buy fresh food and make big meals and freeze them. I have no bills, no credit cards, no debt. I do this so i can buy nice knives. My entertainment is this site and going hiking every chance i get.

Dang it, I like the way you think. I don't go to strip clubs and don't own an $18K bass boat or a bunch of golf clubs. I have no debt either, including no mortgage and no car payments. I buy a few nice blades here and there, spend time with my family and go to church a good bit. Thats it for me, and I am plenty happy. In fact, I am grateful for the life I have.

3 or 4 hundred bucks is a lot of money for a knife. But its squat compared what a "normal" person blows on car payments, HBO, Red Lobster and Levy's.

I don't know if I have a point, except that there are plenty of more careless ways to blow a paycheck than dropping $250 or $400 on a nice Busse.

^ amen! add up the daily coffeeshop costs for even a basic cup of coffee and in less than a month a guy can buy a nice BUSSE or custom.
