I spent the last ten minutes writing and rewriting a response to this and finally decided that none would be best. It's our differences of opinion that makes this place interesting.
I will agree with you 100% in that a fair steel with a good heat treat is preferable to a good steel with a fair heat treat. I will also agree that if the geometry is matched to the material, and all of this is matched to a handle that fits the user's hand, the result is going to be a winner.
I like that knife there, N2S. (It would be better in 52100 though.
