Anybody else giving knives for Christmas presents ?

Yes, I gave myself a BM Pardue Axis 720. Nice knife. My son is the only other family member interested and his wife objects, so he is objecting (sigh!). I am feeling lonely right now. You DC and Baltimore Knife Knuts really do need to join me for a get together. Please see my post in Community.

Last year everyone got Leatherman Micras and Photons. This year I have a new employee, who will get the same, just so she can catch up to the rest. My fiancee will also get a Micra along with a Swiss Tool and a small Sebenza.

I am giving my two younger brothers, 10 and 13 years old, Spyderco dragonflies this Christmas. They are soon to become true knifeknuts.

Well, as a dealer I finally got a Benchmade 9100SBT Stryker Automatic in which has been almost impossible to locate. My wife saw it and asked who was getting that for Xmas. I smiled and told her, "my stocking". She did not understand. Anyway, I gave out about 10 Case knives, a Photon & some Pepper Spray. I'm still not sure about keeping the Stryker Auto tho. Heck, if I had an offer on it, I'd probably move it.
*Hope you enjoy the BM720 AXIS Hugh!

Bought my brother an BM 800SBT AFCK and a 10" Ontario Tanto. Picked up a 3/4 sized KABAR for the misses.

I got my older brother a small Buck folder a few years ago. This year, I am getting my parents a Henkels Paring knife. They have no good kitchen cutlery, so I am going to start them on some stuff. I want to get myself a knife for the holidays, but the money situation and parent situation won't let me.

Man, I love giving knives. This year:

Wife-outstanding custom chef's knife from Chuck Hallberg. 440C, mirror polish, ironwood handles w/ mosaic pins and a matching paring knife. Beautiful (hope to post pics soon).

And my beloved wife returned the favor by giving me a Boye Eagle Wing folder with dendritic cobalt blade. All in all it went pretty darn well. Hope yours did, too.

My X'mas of '99:

A lady friend of mine had expressed interest in getting a knife whislt we were travelling and were at a stall in a street market that sold cheap copy knives.

She never did get one on the trip, so when I got home, I got online and wandered about the net a bit. Found most appeared to have pretty good opinions on Spydercos so I decided to get her one for X'mas. Dropped by the local distributor and settled on a Dragonfly Lightweight (Serrated).

I think it was a *Big* Mistake 8(

Why?

Handling it tt evening (to wrap it), something happened... I'm still not quite sure exactly what.

I suffered this dull ache wrapping it up, w the knowledge "she (the knife) isn't going to be mine...". Then, there was this mild pain, sense of dissappointment and feeling of loss shortly after I handed the present to her on X'mas day.

[Something was missing in my life...]

Post Christmas, I found myself reading BF, surfing the net and making a list of knives I'd like to buy.

[What could fill the void?]

Today, I went back to the shop and picked up the first on tt list, a Spyderco Cricket (Aluminium, Plainedge).

[Kinda felt good]

When my next paycheck comes in, I'm going back for a Delica...

[Gonna feel better!]

And once I've gotton everything on the list, I'm sure I'll be cured. 8) Problem is, the list just seems to keep getting longer... ;P

*Shrug*
