Anybody else just blink and all of a sudden hate lanyards?

I find it useful sometimes.

A small drop of Locktite is all you need.
I know that's a solution, but I don't really want to put locktite on that area of the knife. I think it would be better if CRK sold a screw to replace the lanyard pin on the Sebenza, like they have on the Umnumzaan. There are secondary market options available, but they are usually pricey for what they are.

Another option besides loctite is a small amount of CRK grease on either side of the pin where it contacts the scale and this can be done with the pin installed. Works great! And no issues when you disassemble. If I remember to I will put some on the scale there before it’s back together too.

Agreed it would be nice to have more lanyard delete options, but I do like the look of the stock one once the rattling is gone. That used to drive me nuts.

Is it weird that I don’t mind the rattle? I’ve left the pin in on a few and I don’t mind it rattling oddly. I realize I’m likely alone in this thought as well haha
You're not alone, I know a lot of people don't care about it at all. I wish I didn't care about it! It's one of biggest reasons why I kept selling my Sebenzas.

For what it’s worth, the MXG pin replacement is a perfect fit with no rattle if you like keeping the pin in n

Never seen that MXG pin, that's pretty nice. I have one 21 that came to me with the J2H lanyard delete and it is really well made but I don't know if I'd pay for another one.

Am I the only one that doesn't care about an extra hole? I've always just taken the lanyard/pin out and never thought about it again.

You know weirdly enough I didn't mind the lanyard hole being empty on the 21 with the locating hole present. With the 31 I do mind if the lanyard hole is empty.

I just got my first CRK. A small sebenza insingo. I think that I hate the stupid string on my knife. I don't want it to rattle though, and like the color of the pin. I'll probably locktite it. Would like a slightly larger thumb stud as well for my ham fist.

I disagree, I find the CRK lanyards extremely useful and never understood why most of the aftermarket CRK's I buy have no lanyards. I find the simple Reeve Coil Knot (or noose knot as they officially call it) lanyard the most useful. Yes, you can pay CRK $20+ or more to buy a new one, or you can learn to tie them yourself and replace them as needed. It is mind bogglingly simple to tie that coil knot and the snake knot. I carry and use my knives and having that stub of paracord to retrieve it is extremely useful, IMO.

Are you not using the clip?

I loved the title because sometimes I Iove lanyards and sometimes I hate them. I'm not sure what is behind this schizophrenia, besides my being schizophrenic generally.
On balance, I like the look on a folder and it's easier to find the folder, but I don't like it in the way or even a small dstraction when I'm handling the knife
For me the best use is on a fixed blade around the wrist to prevent losing the knife is certain conditions, but obvioulsy that 's not what it's generally used for on a folder.
I guess in some situations it's always good to have a little more paracord.

Some lanyards by themselves are interesting and it is a way to dress your knife up for different looks. especially if you can make interesting ones yourself, which I sure can't.

Sometimes the rattle bugs me, other times not.

Depends on the knife, how I carry it and what I use it for.

I have large size hands and small CRKs feel awkward without a lanyard for my fourth finger to grab. If it’s a knife I use outdoors I typically have a lanyard (easier to grab in a hurry, and if I use one with a contrasting color it’s easier to find when I drop it in the grass or wherever). If it’s a knife I can grab easily out of my pocket and is comfortable without a lanyard, then I typically take them off.

my only mint purchased sebenza might still have it on, all the others came as users with it unattached or cut off tend to like it that way but lets see how the spacer tab carries

I use the pocket clip on most but on one Zaan I removed the clip and use a clip on sheath that makes a lanyard essential for retrieval.
Did you do that because you didn't like the feel of the pocket clip in your hand on the Zaan? Just curious, why just that one knife. Also, where'd you get the sheath, I like it!

I have no issues with the default CRK pocket clips. I tried the sheath because it was included with a Zaan I bought on the secondary. Using the sheath helps keep the trails at minimum when carrying in the same pocket as keys or other objects. Unfortunately there are no markings on the leather or the clip so I do not know who the maker was.

I only have a lanyard on mu LUDT. I find it provides more purchase for a big hand with a little knife. Thumbs up.

That being said, i dont have one on any other knife, as they, generally, seem to be extra and kinda for show
