Anybody else just blink and all of a sudden hate lanyards?

Typically I'll leave the CRK lanyard attached until the first time i disassemble it. Depending on how I've been enjoying it, I may or may not remove it.
Either way, I've just never had strong enough feelings about them to warrant an immediate removal.
I guess that's how I feel about lanyards/beads on all folders.

Fixed blades though- especially smaller ones- are greatly improved by the presence of a small lanyard (I think).

I only have a lanyard on mu LUDT. I find it provides more purchase for a big hand with a little knife. Thumbs up.

That being said, i dont have one on any other knife, as they, generally, seem to be extra and kinda for show
Yes, the Reeve coil knot lanyard that was included on the Gen II LUDT's serves dual purpose IMO. I tend to "palm" the lanyard to gain more handle purchase and improve grip on the smoother aluminum scales.

I notice that a lot of new CRK owners tend to not understand the purpose of the lanyard and instead of dissembling the knife and removing the lanyard and pin, they automatically untie the lanyard, leaving a small piece of untied paracord.
I tie my own Reeve coil knots and find that you need at least 28" to 30" to start with to get it tied properly, and then cutting off the excess. I cannot tell you how many CRK's I have picked up on the secondary that includes a short piece of useless paracord that used to be a tied lanyard, lol.

Maybe it is just me, but the only time that I use a lanyard on a folder is when I am on boat.

My LUDT is also the only knife I have with a lanyard. It came with it and I REALLY like the LUDT and now that I've carried it 6 months or so, I like the lanyard too.

I didn't realize I hate lanyards till I got my first CRK(Inkosi). Barely lasted an hour till I chucked it into the bin with disgust. I know they serve a purpose for some, but the way I carry my knives it makes the pocket flap stick out like a sore thumb, and they only get in the way.

The tip of the blade comes into contact over time with the lanyard. Eventually it ends up destroying the lanyard or at the very least fraying it badly.

This is exactly what has happened to the lanyard I bought from CRK thinking they must have a way of making them so it doesn't happen...

I like them especially if I am going to use a slip

That would be the main reason why I prefer having them.

Someone always tries to bring this up. It's what the man himself calls them:

LoL I remember buying Classics back in the day, and just straight cutting the lanyard off with another Sebenza, and no one ever cared what happened to the lanyard. Now they sell $100+ lanyards? What a world. Who knew?
